Unforgettable Stay in Paradise - A Perfect Greek Getaway

We stayed at this wonderful hotel in October 2021, and it was simply unforgettable. The location is spectacular—right on the oceanfront, offering breathtaking views and the soothing sound of waves.

Getting there was easy—just a pleasent drive from Dionysios Solomos Airport, with plenty of car rental options available right outside the terminal.

Our room was spacious, immaculately clean, and well-maintained, featuring two balconies and a small kitchenette—perfect for a comfortable stay.

The hotel’s restaurant is outstanding, thanks to Andreas, the incredibly talented chef who prepares the most delicious Greek specialties. Every meal was a delight!

Its central location makes it an ideal base for exploring Zakynthos’ stunning sights.

Above all, what made our stay truly special were the hosts—Andreas and his wife, who are the kindest, most welcoming people you could hope to meet. We can’t wait to return one day to relive this amazing experience.

Amoudi is a lovely place. Great views over the bay to Kefalonia. Clear Horizon is a lovely place to stay. Clean, spacious rooms with a good regular maid service. The Restaruant is lovely. The view is stunning and the food is delicious. We ate dinner there most evenings and always enjoyed it. The people are so friendly and really want you to have a good time. Martina and Andy are always around to help and Pamela in the restaurant is so sweet The beach is narrow but the bay is lovely and makes it so calm and sheltered. All in all a lovely place to stay for a relaxed break

Our third visit (along with our parents 21st!)... enough said? What makes Clear Horizon is the people, I won't name them all as thats not fair but from the owners to the wonderful chef and the cleaner who keeps the place immaculate you feel at home. The food in the restaurant is amazing (try the swordfish and fillet steak) and the new retrofit on the rooms is beautiful. Its so typically greek you feel like you have stepped onto the set of Mamma Mia, talk to the people round the pool and and they are all returning, time and time again. We will be back next year to see our very dear friends and to spend some time in this little piece if paradise, it worries me to give too good a review as selfishly i would like to keep it a secret! shhhshhhh don't tell anyone else!

We spent a week here and were put in Room 204 in an adjacent apartment block as the main building seemed to be full of Dutch groups. The negatives: The beds in our room were very firm and had foot boards so no good for anyone over 6ft like myself. The bathroom was a wet room but the shower had no curtain around it so literally everything gets soaked and the floor flooded which you have to mop after every use. There are no safes in the room so you rent one for €10 a week which is situated in the main hotel reception. Our room only got cleaned twice and on consecutive days. The positives: If you want a quiet seafront location then this is perfect. It has great views and you can walk down onto a very small beach. We pre-paid for the breakfast and I have to say, having stayed at various similar hotels, it was the best we had ever had with a great choice of hot and cold food. The staff make this an enjoyable visit, they are friendly and attentive The owners Andreas and Martina are lovely and do work hard to try to give you a great stay but please remember this is a 2* budget accommodation so don't come here expecting 5* facilities!

Stayed here with my family for a week in August . We had been here before in 2012 with extended family when our boys were 7 and 10. The boys came back last year with grandparents and were happy to come back here with us. My wife and I have travelled a lot over the years and this is the only place we have returned to. Rooms were nice, whilst not 5 star luxury they were clean and spacious . The air con was fab and our two rooms had a fridge which was handy with a supermarket next door (very reasonable ) The views from both our rooms were beautiful I remember the food being amazing and it didn’t disappoint. The service was superb and a class above anything I have experienced in world class hotels. The restaurant staff were friendly and interested. Andy and Martina made us feel like family, honoured and welcome , quite simply nothing was too much trouble . One night my 14year old left his room key in a pub at the next town , I was trying to get a cab to get back to look and Andy insisted on taking me down telling me not to worry if we couldn’t find it , we did so it was a happy ending . We will definitely go back at some point in the future, certainly if Andy and Martina are still there. The wider island is beautiful with some fab places to go, worth getting a car to explore some of the ports on the West coast where the covers are great to swim in . Banana beach in the south east is lovely also . Be warned that the roads are not brilliant , if you get up to 40mph it feels very fast .

We spent 2 lovely weeks at Clear Horizon which was recommended by friends. It's a simple but clean hotel, directly overlooking the sea and from our balcony we had wonderful views over to Kefalonia. Hosts Andy & Martina and daughter Pamela were very friendly and made sure we had all we needed. Andy picked us up from the airport free of charge. (There is no airport bus.) We booked half board and enjoyed copious breakfasts and tasty Greek dinners in the evening. As public transport was practically non-existent, we rented a car for three days to explore the island (detailed map essential!) and took 2 tours: a day's boat trip round Zakinthos (take a picnic!) and another one over to Kefalonia with bus tour and a stop for lunch - all very good value and booked through Martina. Our room was a studio with kitchenette, TV and air conditioning. Everything was fine except the mattresses, which were not very comfortable, but we got used to them! The shower was rather narrow and we would have appreciated more ledges or hooks in the bathroom, but we knew it wasn't a five star hotel and everything else was well up to standard. We met up with other guests in the bar after dinner and many of them were regulars, going back year after year! It was so handy to have the beach close by and the lovely clean pool with sun beds for relaxing. Ammoudi is a quiet backwater off the beaten track but with a couple of supermarkets and bazaars selling the essentials and a few other hotels and bars - perfect for a relaxing holiday. We would definitely recommend this address - great value for money!
