The beat place we’ve stayed in the area.
The service is amazing - very welcoming staff accept you when you arrived, offering a welcoming drink on the rooftop.
The room is well arranged and attendant every day, well maintained.
The view is great. Especially when you wake up early for a breakfast on the roof when the sunshines.

We received The most wonderful welcome, friendly attentive staff, delicious reasonable priced food and the roof top bar had incredible 360 degree views.
Great choice of bars and restaurants close by with a lovely vibe.
Definitely would return, highly recommend.

Been coming to Greece for over 30 years, The Alex is the best hotel I've been to here.
Visited once in 2022 and a second time in 2023, can guarantee I'll be staying here again when I'm back later on in 2024.
The service is to the level of a very high class hotel. The staff are amazing; courteous, friendly, helpful, and professional.
The view is breathtaking.
The food is fantastic.
The area is great to either walk around and explore; but now it is a 5m taxi into the center, or about 10m away to catch your boat.
Can't recommend The Alex highly enough, this accommodation is supreme.

Super friendly and helpful staff. The hotel and restaurant are lovely with a great selection of food and drinks - the rooftop has a beautiful view. A short walk to the restaurants on the water and a 15 minute walk to the metro and stadium.

The rooms were very modern and clean.

Check in for the hotel was very quick and easy and they had my room available at 11am which was very convenient since I was traveling that morning. The room had a smelly odor that resembled musty mild scent. I spoke to front desk and they sent someone with a spray bottle of fresh scent and just sprayed it a few times. The bed was very hard and the pillows were very thin. The room was a spacious size but it seemed so empty. The balcony was a nice touch since it was really long and I could see the ocean from my room. The bathroom shower set up is strange compared to other hotels that I had, it was poor drainage so the bathroom would fill up with water. The hotel did offer us welcome drinks so that was a nice touch and their rooftop area was beautiful for seeing the city of Piraeus. No shuttle to the cruise port but they did arrange a taxi for 10 euros. There is no pool so make sure to be mindful of that as well. It is close to restaurants and bars that are only 5-15 mins away so that was convenient for a nice lunch and gelato. I would stay again if I needed to since I only had to pay 140$ a night.

Hidden gem - book a sea view room, you won't regret it.
I want to give more stars for Service - from check in (where we were fortunate to get an early check in after our long trip), to the restaurant, to check out the team were exceptional.
A special mention to Maria in the restaurant, she was lovely to chat to, sharing a little about her and chatting about Melbourne with us. We need more Maria's in the world - we will wave to your parents in Corfu lovely lady 😊
Highly recommend this hotel, we were there on orthodox Easter, so it was quiet in the surrounds. Location is good, with hop on bus tours stopping just outside. Great space for anyone staying before a cruise, only around 15 euro taxi fare to the port.

Friendly and efficient staff. Good food. Room small but clean. Good base for one night hop from airport to port.

Very good impression from every aspect. Excellent customer care , we had kosher Ladino meal kits with us they kindly accepted to re heat it. Breakfast also very good. The room was clean and the view amazing!!!
Definitely recommend it if you are staying in that area. Kosher friendly hotel.

The Alex - A Hidden Gem in Athens!

Our stay at The Alex in Piraeus, just a 30-minute drive from Athens Airport, was an absolute delight! Despite being located slightly away from the hustle of Athens, this hotel's strategic position made it a mere 15-minute journey to major attractions like the Acropolis, Monastiraki Square, etc.

The breathtaking views from our room offered a sense of peace and tranquility, providing the perfect backdrop for both business and leisure stays. However, the size of the rooms is a bit small & short of storage which makes it difficult at times to navigate if you have more than one luggage. The real standout was the rooftop restaurant 'Next,' a local hotspot with incredible charm. We couldn't get enough of the panoramic views and the vibrant atmosphere.

What truly sets The Alex apart is the impeccable service. The entire staff, with their warmth and politeness, made us feel right at home. Every request was met with a smile, adding an extra layer of comfort to our 5-day stay.

Choosing The Alex was a decision we won't regret. Highly recommend it for an unforgettable Athenian experience!
