Andromeda Hotel Thessaloniki in Thessaloniki

I do not recommend this hotel for tourists or families. It seems to cater more to short-term stays for very specific purposes, rather than providing a comfortable environment for rest or vacation. Throughout the night, I could hear constant noise from other rooms, including very explicit sounds, which made it impossible to relax or sleep. This was not the experience I expected and was extremely disappointing.

Very strange decoration. Bed was not comfortable at all

We tried several times to book a room, but every time the staff realized we didn’t speak Greek, they hung up on us. No English, no patience, just the phone slammed down. Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable.

We were so excited to explore beautiful Thessaloniki, using the Andromeda as a base for our stay... Honestly if it were possible we would give this 'hotel' half a star, but unfortunately it's not and so they are getting one.

We booked the most expensive room with a bath. The photos gave the impression of a cute CLEAN old Hollywood style hotel.

We got in late to Thessaloniki and upon arrival we were greeted by the most disengaged receptionist and after an unsatisfying exchange we were given the keys and made our way to the room.

As we exited the elevator we were met by the smell of stale cigarettes and a stained carpet.

After a short explore we found our door and entered the room. At first glance the room was a little underwhelming but seemed fine. Little did we know we would be walking into a sex stained room that felt like it hadn't been properly cleaned in months.

The footer on the bed had visible stains throughout, the couch, previously white, was showered with suspect looking stains, the menu had a grease like substance smeared on it, the door had the same substance smeared on it, the bath room looked like it hadn't been cleaned properly and the accumulation of all o this left us feeling dirty and uncomfortable.

We went down stairs to complain and was met by the very same unhelpful, disengaged receptionist. She told us they didn't any other rooms available, and said the cleaners were off for the night. At one point in response to us mentioning the dirty bed footer, she suggested that we 'just remove it.'

Feeling like we didn't have an option we were forced to stay the night. We removed the dirty blankets and attempted to turn the heating up to compensate. The heater didn't work. For context we stayed in November. It was a cold night and we were sleeping w our clothes on.

In the morning we got up first thing and aimed to get the rest of our money back and move to a different hotel. We were met by an un empathetic male receptionist. After explaining the situation we were met with a total apathy, at no point did he or the hotel apologise for the disgusting state of the room.

He agree to refund us the rest of our stay but refused to put it in writing and said that he couldn't action it straight away. When he was questioned on this he became passive aggressive. After waiting in the lobby for 30 minutes in silent protest he finally gave us written confirmation via email that he would return the money. Why we needed to wait 30 mins I have no idea, it was never explained.

We highly recommend that people wash their hands after clicking on this hotel. It was that disgusting and the staff were the equivalent level of unhelpful. We could go on and on but the just is DON'T stay here - seriously.
