Seaside hotel near city center. Good but not excellent.

We booked the deluxe suite with the view of the sea. As we parked infront of the hotel we were immediately greeted by the staff, they parked our car and kept the car keys safe

You can go to the shore right out of the back door of the hotel and walk along the Aegean Sea. The buffet breakfast on the first floor is also very rich and delicious

There were fruits and baklava on the table, as well as a note from the hotel. In the bathroom there were shaving sets, dental sets and many more supplies. The Salonika restaurant had the best food we have ever tried

Super friendly and accommodating staff, and the breakfast buffet was amazing with a wide array of delicious freshly made food. If I come back to Thessaloniki, I'm definitely staying at the Makedonia Palace

5-star excellence in all aspects. The hotel is conveniently located close to the airport but still in a quiet and tranquil ambience, amidst nicely maintained gardens. Access is very easy and there is ample parking space

In the common areas the decoration is elegant and classy, conveying an atmosphere of luxury and serenity. The staff is professional, yet very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a top-notch accommodation choice

Everyone made us feel truly comfortable, especially the General Manager, who was just as kind and attentive as the rest of the team. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed every moment

I also really enjoyed using the jacuzzi several times during my visit. However I would like to mention that on my last night. At 2/3 AM, a group of about 20-30 teenagers were shouting in the lobby, which woke me up

While the staff stopped it quickly, it was disappointing for a luxury hotel. When paying these prices, I expect a peaceful sleep rather than a hostel atmosphere. Aside from that one night, it was a fantastic experience

All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and well-maintained, which really stood out. In addition, the gym was modern, fully equipped, and ideal for maintaining a workout routine during the stay

A special mention goes to the receptionist who was on duty between 22:00 and 01:00; he was incredibly friendly and helped us so much, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of

We paid €90 per night and this included free internet access (so I don't know what the previous reviewer is on about). Also included was an excellent buffet. The reception and concierge service was also very good

Stayed here for 3 nights in July 2009. The hotel is a little out of town near the industrial part of the port. Taxi was only €3 into the centre so not a problem

Rooms were quite large althought the bathrooms were quite compact especially the shower stall but in nice condition including nice toiletries if you like that sort of thing

My company booked this hotel through a package organized by our local foreign chamber of commerce for a steal. Nice hotel in a strategic location with good conference facilities

- diningroom openns at 07:00 and it was too late to eat if you need to go for for a trip (the lunch box that we got was very very poor). - the stuff and the room was great and the breakfast as well

For 600 euro per night I expect to get much more like; - bottle or two of water every day. - better quality shaving set (the knife was unuseble)

City Gate Hotel was an unexpected jewel! We chose it for its proximity to the airport, but it's like an oasis where it's located. We arrived too early for check-in, but we were allowed to store our luggage

We had a nice renovated room, not overlooking the street. near the metro station, but also it is walking distance to all of Thessaloniki sites. In the room there is a small fridge, and a small balcony

The decoration is just ordinary, no special experience, but it is comfortable, the main amazing thing is the scenery, lying on the bed to see the sea, downstairs is a street full of food and drink, very convenient! The service is very good, next time I book early, the price will be cheaper

A charming boutique hotel in the heart of Thessaloniki entertainment district and just a block from the harbor and walking distance to most museums and cultural sites as well as dozens of restaurants

I hardly recommend the Excelsior, not only because of the great service, but because of its central location as well. It is close to everything, within walkable distance to all major destinations in Thessaloniki

We stayed for one night, we chose a junior suite that was spacious and with a view of the city. As the hotel is in the city we did not have noise

This is a great buy in the middle of the busiest area in Thessaloniki. Astoria is located conveniently in the heart of Pasadena and close to entertainment, food, and many tourist attractions.

very affordable, convenient to downtown hotel. Lobby, restaurant nicely done. Room was spacious but we had suite and could have used more end tables. Kosher food option was very good and reasonable

Would prefer though that the bathroom was a bit bigger cause i could hardly dit into the shower and water was spread all over. The place was also ideal if you plan ro do your job or tour downtown

No rooms though for families unless you book a suite and thus the cost hets significally bigger. Also the noise from traffic was not completely excluded from inside the room but it was bearable

Despite being far from the centre, it is a lovely hotel with a view of the city from above (on days when the city is not covered in fog, of course). The room was very nice, with a very large and comfortable double bed

There is no free parking, you should book one beforehand and then you have to find a way to temporarily park somewhere in the centre of the city just to go to the hotel to give you a parking card and guidelines about the parking seats (which are not at the hotel)

The room was very small, with a view to a building under construction (although from the site you have the impression that you have a sea view), with a window which doesn't open

Thessaloniki promenade is just in front of the hotel, and some rooms have partial views of the sea and the Port

Great modern and hip hotel, cool vibes in the lobby and rooms. The hotel is located in the heart of Thessaloniki food and party scene, and has great eateries, coffee shops and bars all around

The hotel manager was very interested to hear about our experience and if we had any suggestions. I would totally recommend this hotel for a weekend gateway or a city break

On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was quite satisfactory. In conclusion, I am not going to pay 144 euros (breakfast included) for that kind of services overall
