I had a wonderful stay at this family run hotel and was genuinely impressed by the overall experience. The Mare Blue staff were always kind, attentive, and accommodated all our requests. The WiFi was steady and fast, which is not always the case on many hotels. Hot water was available 24/7, with steady and strong water pressure — something I found to be much better here compared to other islands I’ve visited, where it can often be inconsistent. Bathroom included all toiletries i.e. shower gel, hair shampoo, soap etc. Overall a great stay and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Ios island.

Seven days and nights at Mare Blue, an ideal accommodation just steps from Gialos beach. Immaculately clean rooms and exceptionally hospitable hosts. Ios and Mare Blue are highly recommended without reservation.

I stayed three days at Mare Blue. The rooms are simple but very clean and the service was excellent. The location is the best part, on a quiet street close to all the hustle and bustle, a 10-minute walk from the port and all the restaurants. It has all the essentials and several spots around the hotel where you can sit and meet other guests and even includes a parking spot.

Location of the Hotel is convenient because it is close to restaurants, main beach and markets. Staff was approachable, very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were very clean with a daily cleaning options and tidy with every necessary equipment.

If you need a place to stay with very short notice, this is the place to stay. Very friendly mom-n-pop guesthouse. Accomodating and are very sweet. WiFi connection can be fickle. Power goes out sometimes. Bathroom door doesn't close all the way. Shower doesn't stay up and sometimes falls. Had to tighten the nozzle a couple of times. Uncomfortable bed, tiny TV. Either way, the rooms are not the focus, this place has an unbeatable location, five minute walk to the beach, a ten minute walk to the port, and a fifteen minute walk to the discos. The only time you will be in your room is to sleep.

My husband-and-I stayed here for 3 nights. Honestly, it’s what you would expect a 2-star hotel to be. When we first arrived, we got placed in the wrong room because of a miscommunication (the owners don’t really speak English, which is surprising since Ios has mostly international tourists). Our actual room was a 3-bed room because we like the extra space. It was TINY. The bathroom was also small but the worst part of it was the shower. I was born in Europe, so I’m used to showers without curtains, but this one didn’t even have enough of a separation between the shower and the floor, which led to a lot of water ending up on the floor – it made me not even want to shower there. Also, I found quite a few spiders in the room. Additionally, there are not separate balconies so if you want to dry your bathing suite, you have to dry it in on the common patio. One good thing is that they had air conditioning. Another good thing is that it was a pretty good location (near the port). Other than that, it was mediocre at best.

My stay at Mare Blue on Ios Island was absolutely fantastic! The resort's location offered everything in a walking distance. The accommodations were impeccably clean. The staff and more particularly Theodora was friendly, attentive, and made me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. The whole experience was pleasant. Highly recommend!

My stay at Mare Blue Ios was an amazing experience that exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of exceptional service, cleanness and a true taste of Greek hospitality made it a right destination. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a blissful getaway on Ios island.

Lovely staff, super clean, great location close to all main happenings. They allowed cost free early check in which was very convenient for us as the ferry arrived around 13:00. Theodora is an amazing host.
