Hotel Agamemnon in Nafplio

I feel disappointed to leave such a negative review, however I would not recommend staying here. The room was very dirty, streaky floors, the halls were not vacuumed and you could see literal garbage in the halls like wrappers from straws, plastic tags from clothing, and other little bits. The was blood on the wall next to our bed, and the shower doors and mirror was so streaky. I went to look for extra pillows as there is nothing in the room and stumbled in to a horrendously kept storage room w sheets, pillows and blankets scattered everywhere. The tv is not a smart tv so there was no way to connect to Netflix or like programming. There was a bucket of umbrellas at the front door so we helped ourselves to them like we have at every hotel ever-turns out they were peoples personal property and rightfully there was some very upset patrons of the hotel. We felt terrible as it was but then the front desk lady yelled at us, how were we to know there was no sign! Lastly we are sure a staff member took a brand new jelly cat from our childrens room, it was in the room when we went out for the day and missing when we came back, of course it was a collectable one from the bakery in Paris. The location and the restaurant were the only 2 positives.

We’re not the type of family that likes to complain — we usually make the most of wherever we stay. That said, while this hotel has an absolutely unbeatable location, that’s unfortunately where the positives start and end.
The property is in clear need of renovation. There was an unpleasant smell throughout our stay, which reception kindly explained was due to the nearby ocean — but it still made the indoor atmosphere uncomfortable. The bathrooms were extremely small, with shower heads that sprayed in all directions, making it difficult to shower comfortably. Some lights in the room were not working, adding to the tired feeling of the space.

Breakfast was very basic and lacked variety, especially compared to other places we’ve stayed nearby.

Again, the location is truly the highlight here — close to everything and very convenient — but the hotel itself really needs attention and updates to match its surroundings.
