Where to stay in Ialyssos

Recently returned from 10 days at Rodos Palace. Hotel looked good upon arrival but rooms very disappointing, old and worn. Our room was fairly clean, but my brothers was not. Lots of mould in bathroom.. Cleaners accidentally left our room door open 2 days running, I reported to reception, giving them a chance to improve. Restaurant was a nightmare !! So chaotic and noisy, not a pleasant experience...

Beautiful hotel in convenient location. Customer service excellent. Elevators not all working and has to walk down 15 flights of stairs. 1 elevator never worked at all. A/C didn’t work properly. Lovely week in annex building at Akti imperial. Kids literally lived in the main pool, we loved the evening show by the poolside stages, and breakfast buffet at Epicurus restaurant had everything, even freshly made omelets for our picky son. Reception arranged a late taxi and a baby cot without fuss. Left feeling relaxed and grateful.

All Inclusive hotel with very nice pool area, close to everywhere, the beach, the airport and Rhodes town. Close to the hotel is a lot of gift shops and a good, cheap car rental (Sky Rent a Car). Like all hotels in Rhodes, the quality is high and the prices are quite reasonable. It is just a bit far from the old town. But everything is at your fingertips.

The Junior Suite has a very good layout, which is better than most Sheraton hotels. The service is friendly and decent. The underground parking lot is convenient. The music from the evening performances is a bit loud, but the sound insulation is fine after closing the windows.

we stayed 8 days AI and what can we say. Staff were amazing couldnt fault them, clean restuarant and main areas. We stayed on 4th floor and the carpets were filthy, lighting poor very dim, a small lift bear in mind too. The hotel is situated in a nice quiet part of the sea front and only 4 miles from the old town but be prepared to pay anything from €15-20 for a taxi, a bus is slightly cheaper. Great location with the beach across the road. Fantastic sunsets. Rooms fresh and clean with air con. Food was good with plenty of variety. Simple rooms but it's exactly what you pay for. The staff is very nice from house keeping to servers. My wife asked if there was gluten free bread available and the lady working breakfast said no but asked how long we were staying. The next day the lady came with a package of gluten free bread. That made my wife's day. If we ever come back to Rhodes we will be staying again.

The location - right on the beach is great but you know that before you go. The welcome (very late evening) was perfunctory rather than warm with very little information given. We also had a noisy a/c unit.
