Superfriendly owners, excellent views of the city of Volos, many breakfast items, within steps of the main square with trees that are hundreds of years old, a sight to behold....

Everything! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth by Kiki, the most kind and caring host we’ve ever met. She went above and beyond to help us settle in, especially when our kids weren’t feeling well after the transfer. Her empathy and hospitality truly set the tone for a wonderful stay. Dimitri even met us at midnight to help with our luggage from the parking lot—an incredible gesture that we deeply appreciated.

The views from our room were absolutely breathtaking—panoramic sights over the Pelion mountains that we’ll never forget. The room itself was spotless, very comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Breakfast was exceptional, with a rich variety of fresh, delicious options served in a peaceful setting. The entire atmosphere of the property is serene and relaxed—perfect for recharging.

We also experienced a level of care that goes far beyond expectations: our son accidentally left behind a pair of very expensive shoes with custom orthopedic insoles and Kiki personally transferred them to friends of ours staying at another hotel 20 minutes away. This kind of thoughtfulness is simply extraordinary.

The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Makrinitsa, yet quiet and peaceful. Every staff member we encountered was not only professional but also incredibly warm and attentive. A special thanks to Kiki and her husband for making us feel like family. Their hospitality made our stay truly unforgettable.

Breakfast was delicious with hot drinks, variety of cheeses, eggs, baked goods, Greece yogurt, fruits, cakes … very big variety.
We stayed 3 nights and each and every day was a great pleasure.

My wife and I travel as much as possible and this place ranks in our top 5. Kiki and Vlassis are amazing host. When we arrived in Makrinitsa we were meet by Vlasis who guided us where to park our car, then assisted us with our luggage as he guided us to the Hotel giving us a small tour along the way, when we arrived at Melanthi we were greeted by Kiki with a welcome drink and conversation it was as if we have known Kiki and Vlasis for years.. Amazing! Then Kiki took us on a personal tour of Makrinitsa explaining in detail the history of the area even pointing out the smallest detail that as a tourist you would probably never notice, you can tell she has a true passion for what she does. After returning to the hotel Kiki guided us to our room, upon entering our room everything was very clean and well done, tastefully decorated with modern convenience. The view is amazing you can see clearly to the Sea and beyond. With our stay we had breakfast included and it was quite above our expectations with fresh made varieties of pastries, cheese, meats, fruits, eggs, and breads. I can keep going on about this place but for you to truly understand you must experience it for your self.

Hotel Melanthi is out of a fairytale. The rooms are magical, ornate and traditional stone rooms with wooden trim and filled with such color and detail you barely want to leave (and the water pressure is great!) The breakfast is a truly excellent variety of food, the view and location in the village is perfect. Most of all Kiki and Vlassis care about their guests and making sure they are having a nice time and go out of their way with recommendations and assistance in the area. I think we were invited to sit for a glass of homemade liqueur almost every time we passed by. Definitely staying here was part of what made our time in Pelion feel so special.
