WORST HOTEL STAY EVER! This place was awful! My money got stolen out of our locked hotel room (from my luggage!!) the first day we were there. The hotel did absolutely nothing to compensate me and the police told me to forget about the money. They did not even contact me back as they said they would or give me a case number I could use for my insurance. It's also much further from the city than stated. We did not have a car and you have to walk at least 10 minutes to get to the nearest bus stop, climbing steps up the side of the highway where lizards run over your feet. Then you have to take 2 buses and a tram to reach the historical part of the city, traveling through very rundown parts of the town first. Coming back at night was scary and we were 2 women alone! We had to use taxis most of the time to avoid crossing a very scary, mostly empty bridge which resulted in unanticipated expenses besides my already stolen money. It was also the saddest breakfast ever! The first morning there were cheap vienna sausages floating in cold water (the warmer had been turned off). There was only a choice of a few rolls, horrible instant coffee, tea, and some orange drink that they put out every morning (I suspect the same ones which were not drunk the previous days). Breakfast is supposed to be until 10 am, but one morning I came down shortly before 10 and there was nothing at all! Not even boiling water to make coffee! When I asked for hot water I got lukewarm water from a kettle. Two mornings we were offered a choice of ham and eggs or an omelette. The ham and eggs were floating in at least a quarter cup of oil and the omelette is actually just scrambled eggs. The same fish pate was put out 2 mornings in a row. On our last morning a new group of tourists arrived so at least we got warm sausages, cold meats and tomato and cucumber slices. The room was clean but the rings on the shower curtains were rusty and the curtains themselves so faded, they have obviously not been changed in years. No decoration in the rooms except a single plant hanging on the wall. A group of tourists arrived our first night there but half of them slept in the foyer and left the next morning because they were so unhappy with the rooms. They were also told they would not get fresh towels for the duration of their stay and their tour guide was on the phone complaining to his company when the police came to investigate the theft of my money. At least we got fresh towels when the room was cleaned. Do not believe the pictures - this place has not seen its heyday in at least a decade and there is absolutely nothing to do around there - no restaurants or anything. The minibar in the room was empty and forget about having a drink at the bar in the hotel, it's always closed. I would not recommend this 'hotel' to anyone and how they ever got 3 stars is beyond me. We did not complain except about the theft because I went for one week to celebrate my 37th birthday and I didn't want to add to my anger and disappointment but DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR TRIP TO OTHERWISE BEAUTIFUL BUDAPEST.

It was a terable experiance. Unfreindly people that spoke littel to no english. First night had rats in our room. They tride to bite my roommate and ran around in her bed. Hotel was double booked and we were forst to stay next door at the canoe club. No towls, no bathroom in our room, no room service. We had to make our own beds. Back at the hotel, the place needed some attention badly. No restorant or bar. No barfridge, phone or coffee in the rooms. Beleve me!!! The photos on there website does not represent the poor quality or service that truely exist. NOT 3 STARS AT ALL!

Very nice people, helpful, we have a good time at the place! Best wishes from Bosnia and Argentina!!!

Couldn't even bear to spend one night here. Most probably okay for a summer visit but in Winter at night it is a dismal area. Managed to find alternative accommodation in the centre of Budapest for same price.
