Guesthouse Elin in Hella

I stayed at this house in May2019 and it was the best accommodation of our entire trip. Today, its July 2021, 15 months of not stepping out of our home due to the pandemic. I wish i could go back to sitting on the wooden bench in front of this guesthouse, with a beer in my hand and just stare into the horizon. I wish!!

Directions to this place is on the same turn as the hotel under construction.

Water pressure was low. Not great, but useable.

The heat was pretty good when turned on.

Wifi was not good for me at all. Even though I was connected with full bars, nothing would load. Not sure what the issue was. So be prepared to be without internet during your stay.

Great place for a stay on our way southeast in Iceland.

Great place to stay for a visit to the South coast of Iceland! Booked via Airbnb. Host was responsive; everything was super clean; shower and kitchen facilities were great; bed was comfy; and there was a nice porch for relaxing under the stars. The view was amazing and we had access to a hot tub at the main house. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect! Elin is super nice. Her place is so peaceful, located in the middle of grass fields. The hot tub is on spot - view wise and temperature wise. Kitchen has everything we needed. Shared bathroom was nice and clean, and shower was good. Would go again and Again!

We arrived very late, arund 2300z, and we're warmly greeted by Elin. The atmosphere is comfortable and homely. Most definitely the best night sleep I got the entire trip. The clouds broke and we got a glimpse of the northern lights, just as her husband was coming back from the farm. Beautiful rooms, kitchen facilities, and a nicer shower than the hotels we stayed in. If you want to stay somewhere away from all of the tourist busses and vans with minimal light pollution and excellent hosts, this is it! Thank you so much!
