Hotel Jewel of Chembur in Mumbai

We were waiting in Mumbai to pick up a cruise ship and this hotel was selected by the cruise company for us to stay in while we were awaiting. All the staff were very helpful and very friendly, not all of them could speak English well, but they all tried to make an effort. The room was a good size and the bathroom was big. The shower did not always have hot water, the temperature varied from tepid to warm. The hotel staff were very attentive, asking if we had laundry to do, delivered two bottles of water each day, and check the mini bar each day to see if anything had been consumed Asif, on the front desk, tried very hard to help us with the problem we had had at the airport, and while we were unsuccessful in resolving the problem. (nothing to do with the hotel) he did an excellent job over two days of effort. The area around the hotel was typical Mumbai, crowded, dusty, with lots of little shops selling all kinds of things. My wife bought several Indian dresses in a shop just next door and we were very happy with those purchases.

Perfect for a stay in Chembur. Great location, very close to public transport to quickly move around. Area around the hotel is great to walk and explore with shops. Service was quick, attentive and warm. The food at both the restaurants was outstanding! Rooms were clean and had all the amenities one expects

I was at Hotel Jewel of Chembur, Mumbai during 27th December to 29th December 2024 in room no 501. I am visiting Hotel Jewel of Chembur after almost 3years. The hotel has changed a lot and staffs also. The room I stayed was in 5th Floor Executive Deluxe Room, a big with a king size bed, sofa, central table and a working desk ***** with TV and a mini freeze. There a separate large dressing room with cupboard and a large mirror attached with toilet and bat area. The breakfast was at Via Bombay. Previously the Via Bombay and Le Café were totally separate, but now they are merged by few passages. The breakfast menu was good, but most of items were repeated every day, I had my breakfast on 28th and 29th morning. The staff at restaurant was very help full. The cleanness of the room was also maintained all credit to housekeeping staff. The reception staff was also very helpful. In fact, I meet two old staff Mr. Basile and Sunil and they were very happy see me back after a long time. There is a new Open-air roof-top Banquets on the 6th floor of the hotel, which can accommodate around 300 peoples. There are two main problem I faced. 1) The Bed was at floor level so getting up was a challenge 2) The music from 6th floor Banquet was very loud and goes till 11pm night. So, getting sleep before 11pm was difficult 3) Suddenly the room phone stopped working and no water in WC Irrespective of few above problem my stay was good.

Very pleased with the overall experience. Entire staff was very cooperative. Neat, tidy and well organised room.
