The Gordon House Hotel in Mumbai

The disco on the first floor started up around 10 pm. I was on the second floor. I put in ear plugs. I put on my noise cancelling headphones. None of that did a bit of good because the bass vibration made the bed shake. The noise finally ended around 1:15 or 1:30 AM. Friends fortunate enough to have rooms on the 4th floor heard noise but it wasn't something that reverberated through their bones. Those of us on Floor 2 all arrived at breakfast the next morning glassy-eyed and in a foul mood. Not quite as bad the second night, but still bad enough to disrupt sleep. Look, the location is great. It's a three minute walk to the Gate of India. Maybe you'll be there on a night when the club is silent. But if your primary concern is a good night's sleep, heed the other reviews warning you about the noise. It's clear from how long the complaints go back that management can't fix the issue.

If you are Deaf, this is a GREAT hotel....otherwise Avoid it. Its 11 30 pm, despite 2 phone calls to the duty manager who promised to tell the night club to turn down the volume, we can still hear someone screaming at the karaoke bar and yes the room does vibrate with all the noise.

I stayed at the Gordon House as part of an Overseas Adventure Travel tour. The hotel is very well located near the India Gate and good restaurants. I was originally given a room on the 4th floor, but the bed was so hard that I asked to switch rooms the next day. I was given a room on the 2nd floor, which unbeknownst to me is right above a very loud disco. I tried ear plugs and a white noise app on my phone, but I could still hear the loud thumping of the bass loud and clear. Around 11 pm I asked the front desk when the music would stop and was told 1 am. Unfortunately the hotel was full so I couldn't move to another room. Needless to say, I got very little sleep and needed to get up early for touring the next day. Fortunately the next day, I was departing at 10 pm for the airport, so I didn't need to spend another night trying to sleep in this hotel. Because of the location of the rooms above the disco, I can't recommend this hotel. Rooms on the 4th floor are quieter, but this is the "Scandinavian" floor and typical of Scandinavian platform beds, they are rock hard, but at least they are reasonably quiet.

This hotel has BED BUGS , the hotel staff frankly Gaslighted me and my friend for 2 hours before doing anything about it, completely in denial.. It was clear from that the black droppings and even the BEDBUG shell casings that is what obvious. Yet I spent a whole day dealing with this issue. They "claimed" that the whole room had been treated, yet none of my clothes or the inside of any my luggages pieces were treated. I WASTED a day of my vacation dealing this with terrible situation. Don't stay here unless you want the GM and senior staff to GASlight you. I have also tried to contact the technical owner of the hotel -Sanjay Narang and the CEO of the Mars group that manages the hotelier group - Poul Weihrauch. However no direct response from either. DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL
