We spent 2 nights at La Tavola. The rooms were excellent, food, home made wine and beer fantastic. The location is excellent in the hills above Assisi. The hosts Riccardo and Alessia went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, it is a shame they have now moved on lucky we enjoyed their hospitality for their last days, we wish them well in their new venture.

This restaurant was a pleasant discovery. Far from the inhabited centers and immersed in an incredible peace just above Assisi following the road that climbs to Monte Subasio and arrives in Valtopina. The food is excellent for the care of the ingredients and the choice of owners. The superb cellar for both wine, beer and spirits. The menu is about average. Good microbrewery beer.

Overall, we definitely had a good time, two unpretentious nights. The cleanliness could have been better; we quickly threw away the table runner because it was dirty. Overall, though (perhaps because we were tired), we slept well. The room was quiet and well-lit. The price was fair (it couldn't have been better, perhaps even a little less for a small double room).

Fantastic hotel! Located in the center and therefore very convenient location for visiting Assisi. The staff is very kind especially Mr. Simone! We ate well and had a super breakfast. We will be back for sure.

Our stay here satisfied all our needs while enjoying the glorious town of Assisi. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and sweet and was walkable distance to many sites and a bus stop.

Nice hotel. Assisi is beautiful and so spiritual! Great breakfast. All rooms in the ancient city are slightly dated. Close to good restaurants. Very difficult to drive there! Hills are very steep and hard for seniors. I brought my walking sticks but still difficult. Worth it though.

Charming hotel with kind staff and a great location close to all the main sights in Assisi.

It was an average room with no Internet, we had to go downstairs to use it. The staff was somewhat friendly in the beginning but that changed pretty quickly once we asked about the Internet not working. On a positive note the location was great.

Hotel caters for one night coach tours. Who leave early so get up earlier. No sound proofing between rooms and we could hear every word spoken plus their phone alarm woke us up at 6am!!! Typical dated decor. Dark wood furniture damask bedspreads and plates on walls!! Breakfast was unimaginative, fruit hard and unripe and basic plus they were continually setting up for the coach tour lunches clattering...

we liked the property of this hotel. we felt that we were in a country side. we couldn't lower the air conditioning as it was 24 degres. we are used to have it at 20 degres.

The hotel was easy to find and only a short way from the walled city of Assisi, where parking is available so you can walk around easily. At the hotel everyone was really helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the food and wine delicious. Great place to stay as it’s nearby to Assisi, but not too crowded

Location is great: close to Assisi and to Santa Maria degli Angeli. The rooms are simple but comfortable. But what I loved the most is how friendly, accommodating and flexible the hosts are. I had a great stay.

What a place to find by chance! We had a superb meal, as well prepared as if this had been a home and presented with friendly care. We felt very much at home and will certainly return if we have the occasion. P.S the selection of Umbrian cheeses and fantastic home made preserves is highly recommended.

A place tucked away from the center of Assisi. The sign makes it unclear whether it's a hotel, a B&B, or a boutique hotel. The building hasn't been modernized, with a late 1960s/early 1970s style. The rooms are small and cramped. The breakfast is decent. The price is fair considering the structure.

Very centrally located, convenient for exploring the city. Super helpful staff. The adjacent restaurant is also excellent. Excellent value for money. The soundproofing in the rooms could be improved. Rooms are a little dated but very clean. Excellent for short stays.

We visited the Castello di Petrata for a wedding. The grounds are beautiful and it's a great location to explore Assisi. Just 15 minutes by cab from the town. Peaceful and secluded!

Wonderful surroundings. Very old building beautifully kept but be aware that it means you get creaking floor boards and noisy plumbing - all adds to the character! Receptions staff really helpful - just wished the serving staff smiled occasionaly.

Beautiful venue ideal for a wedding. The three days were perfect in every way, staff efficient, and polite, rooms clean and in keeping with the Castello, outdoor and indoor spaces well though out for a wedding venue and the food was great too

Just spend 3 days at the most romantic wedding. The staff at Petrata know their weddings. Everything was perfect. The location is wonderful. You don't get a more romantic backdrop for a ceremony than the view over the hills and Assisi. The food is excellent and the service smooth and efficient. Only negative is in the rooms. Possibly the noisiest aircon we have ever met. And the showers - the water...

The best location to drive in and simultaneously walk to the best places of Assisi

All staff were helpful. Has 2 restaurants one like a “proper” restaurant and the other more like a pizzeria/bar. Both very good. The hotel is sited just a short walk from all the main areas to visit. And not very far from where to take a bus. Taxi access to hotel door. Internet works well. A good value for money hotel. Would stay again quite happily.

It is located on the opposite side of town of the St. Francis Basilica, but it is only a short walk from the C bus station. The bedroom is spacious and clean. We even had a small terrace. The bathrooms, however, are small. The service was excellent. The restaurant had high quality meals. Just a lovely spot.

Pilgrims and a decent room We were looking for an affordable room in Assisi so we didn’t need luxury. This fit the bill. The best thing about it was the restaurant in the hotel, which had excellent food and groups of pilgrims.

I recently stayed at Los Angeles Hotel Assisi, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The location was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly and professional, and the cleanliness of the hotel was outstanding. I just got back from Santa Maria degli Angeli, a basic but comfortable and clean hotel. Very kind staff, excellent barman and a special mention for the very good Nello, professional, cultured (rare quality!!!), attentive and very nice. A stay truly to recommend.

I am reviewing only the restaurant, where I had lunch on the occasion of seeing an old friend. The restaurant is integrated into the hotel and is structured in several rooms; it is accessed from the main entrance and appears with a large room. It offers lunch and dinner service; the latter with pizza service. We arrive at 12.30 and we are asked to wait as it is still closed! Shortly after, we sit down...

…I'll start by saying that I've seen this building in Assisi!!…only from the outside!!…currently it can't be visited inside!!…it's the Loggia dei Maestri Comacini!!…it's located on the main street of the city!!…in Via San Francesco!!…in the historic center!!…and it's easily recognizable because it has a typical medieval façade!!…and then you can see the marble slab with their name!!…as in my photo...

I only saw the exterior of the building, which is very interesting because it's visibly original. I also understood where the term "lodge" comes from for Masonic lodges, an institution derived from medieval master architects, as all the symbolism demonstrates.

A little gem, very clean, very well equipped (nothing is missing, impressive) practically at the gates of the Basilica, to this is added the kindness of the owner, the availability, the courtesy and the tact.

Perfectly central, just steps from the Basilica! It's a real gem! Extremely clean, equipped with every comfort, recommended to everyone.

Small but has everything. Mr. Ferdinando was very kind and provided us with water and prosecco, which were very welcome. We had a great time.

It's fine for a one-night stay. The room was clean and quiet, the spa worked well, and the sauna and hammam were very hot. The grounds are well-maintained. Breakfast could be improved (they didn't have eggs, and the soy cappuccino was undrinkable). The kitchenettes are uncomfortable. The property feels a bit dated.

My wife and I stayed for a couple, with a room and breakfast, and one hour of exclusive access to the spa (heated whirlpool, Turkish bath, and sauna). The property is a stunning villa nestled in the countryside; we loved it; it was quiet and relaxing. The extremely friendly staff made us feel completely at ease, providing us with all the information we needed. Highly recommended for those seeking tranquility

The five stars are for the location which is enchanting and above all immersed in nature and tranquility. The rooms of different styles and genres are particular but the bathrooms would need to be reviewed from a functionality point of view. Overall it is a good establishment.

The country house is set in such a peaceful ambience surrounded by mountains but minutes from centre of Assisi. The hosts were simply amazing and the breakfast they prepared was delicious. We were made to feel extremely welcome.

We had an incredible stay at Re Artù. Andrea, Silvia and Maria made us feel very welcome. Our apartment had everything necessary to cook meals in between dining out. We had coffee every morning and wine every evening on our terrace overlooking the hill of Assisi. It’s right on the Camino di Francesco, with beautiful scenery and good walks. Perfect location for visiting Assisi with excellent access to train station. Rooms comfortable, spacious and very clean and inviting. My room 206 with partial view of Assisi from my window. Villamena is Paradise in the green Umbrian hills . The staff - mainly Simona and the owner Raffaela - make everyone feel relaxed and at home. The atmosphere is tranquil and secluded . It was an excellent location to visit the Basilica Saint Francis. The parking was free and incredibly close. I have been in Assisi many times and I’ve never found such great parking. The owner was very communicative via WhatsApp and he was very helpful. They held our bags for us for the day and were very accommodating. The location can’t be any more central.

The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great but you could hear everything from the other rooms. I heard one guy snoring all night, a lady talking till 1am, and a television. I couldn't sleep from all the noise.

This is a charming old fashioned hotel founded in 1907, right at the bottom of the hill into town. Lovely continental breakfast, comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the basilica. Be warned the restaurant only opens if there are lots of people staying. Assisi is magical

The grounds are so large that it feels like a private resort. The view of Assisi from the garden is the highlight of this accommodation. The rooms are of a reasonable standard. The owner is kind and nice. I visited in the winter, but I would like to visit again in the summer to experience the pool and restaurant. It is located at the entrance of Assisi Village.

We had a wonderful stay at Portica 10. The hosts are just lovely, kind and welcoming. The facilities are well kept, clean, organized and cozy. They had the place decorated for the holidays and it was beautiful. The location was perfect and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go to in the town of Assisi.

Location,location! The hotel is very close to all sights. Carmine and his wife run this hotel and take great care and pride in its upkeep. Breakfast is delicious with Carmine's wife making the daily bread. The hotel is modern and new within ancient travertine construction. We loved our stay here.

This is a beautiful B&B, such modern rooms built into an older, lovely building. The owners are terrific and helpful. The breakfast is small, but satisfying. Only negative comment would be the first floor rooms, located right off the small lobby/breakfast area, are quite loud when guests come and go. Request a room on a higher floor.
