Hotel Dolonne was the perfect spot for us to get some rest during our TMB hike. The service was exceptional, and the gal at the front desk was very kind and personable. She sent us with some snacks upon checkout. We were comfortable and enjoyed the nice, clean rooms! The hotel was charming and quaint.

Goodness ,I wish I could have stayed longer in this hotel! I am absolutely in love with this hotel . The building itself was built in the 1500s ,all stone with views I could not get over ! I was glued to the window .
Our room was clean , we booked one night for 3x people and at arrival they told us they forgot about the 3rd person, but immediately rectified the situation and after 15min we received our room .
For the 3 of us it wasn't as spacious, the room was quite small ,but since we only needed a good night's sleep ( we were doing the TMB) , we were happy with everything.

This was the single worst hotel experience I've had in years of travel. The hotel is a very old building with stone and hardwood, and there is zero sound insulation. You can hear your neighbors talking like they're in your room. There was no staff at the hotel in the late evening, so our first night was exceptionally loud with people going up and down the hall shouting. But it quieted down after several hours.

The second night was worse as on top of the sound of people running around and shouting, someone tried to get in our room and was shouting at our door. I went to reception and no one was there and called down and no one answered. Later when I complained, the answer was basically "oh I'm sorry".

The third night was even worse as someone was yelling and trying to get into our room both at 11pm and 3am. No staff was available to help, and we contemplated calling the police but the person who tried to get into our room sounded drunk and confused but not aggressive.

The next morning, it was hard to find a staff person that spoke English, but when I did the response was very rudely that if I didn't like their hotel I could leave, and they would not give me a refund of the nights I didn't stay there (I stayed 3/6 nights). We chose to leave, because we were exhausted from 3 nights of poor sleep and frankly didn't feel safe.

******* also tried numerous times on our behalf to get a refund of the nights we didn't use, but the hotel refused them too.

A step back in time….
We have just returned from a week at Hotel D’Olonne (or should I say Chateau D’Olonne). We were excited before arrival, and we were not disappointed.

The hotel and its staff ensured a safe, welcoming and comfortable stay. Special shout out to Gloria who ran the reception like a boss.

Super food in the atmospheric restaurant (think medieval banquet), and the best Aperol Spritz.

Perfectly positioned to the main cable car and boot hire, and a 15 min scenic walk into the centre of town.

Thank you xxx

Just back from a one week stay at this quirky 15th century hotel. It's most definitely like stepping back in time. The lovely young lady on reception always greeted us with a pleasant smile and was very helpful. Breakfast was a good selection of cold meats, croissants, cereals and boiled eggs, this set us up for a good morning skiing. A short walk along the cobbled street to The Dolonne ski lift , perfect location for us. Pre dinner drinks at the hotel bar down stone steps and various arches we were served by whoever was around to serve you which again was quite quirky , we certainly kept the lovely staff busy. Evening meals were delicious and plentiful, compliments to the Chef. Liked the touch that any wine not finished was kept and put back at your table the following evening . The bedroom was immaculately clean and warm. The double bed was made up of 2 single mattresses pushed together, with bedsheets and woollen blankets all very comfortable. Housekeeping every day. The whole team was exceptional, reception, waiters and waitresses, housekeeping, night manager and not forgetting Alba . the owners should be very proud of all of their staff. The hotel is dated but that's part of its character. Would definitely go back.

The charming historical little street in which the hotel is leads to the skilifts within minutes of walking so it is very practcial. Theer are a couple of good restatutants within a couple of minutes walk, however there are no bars or cafes, you need to walk for 15-20 mins up and down big hills to get to the city centre and find some life. The hotel does not have coffe or tea in the rooms and nowhere to sit and have a drink in the hotel itself. The inside of the hotel is very charming, like an old castle to explore, but the rooms are very bare and need redecoration. the batjhroom was tiny. Overall a great place for ski lovers who are out on the slopes all day and only sleep at the hotel.

Worst experience ever in Alps. Completely outdated hotel in charming building. We had view through small window to neighbouring wall and chimney through small and horribly squeaky window. If you like comfortable bed - forget about it. Two matresses in double bed, hard as stone. Pillows - strange hard and narrow creations. Hotel could not provide with soft ones, so I bought a pillow! There is no duvet, just strange thin wool plaids. Hotel representative said - we do not use duvets (!). Only one electric socket, nearly working, next to the bed. You either charge phone or have light. Not both. You cannot lock WC door. No coffee, tea or even kettle. Burnt hair dryer. Beware your head when taking stairs - dangerously low ceilings not marked. So it is a disrespectful disaster - STAY AWAY!

A charming rustic hotel with its stone walls and mesmerizing mountain views. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel's terrace is a highlight with its great views on the mountain and the life in Couermayeur. Moreover, the gentleman at the reception was not only super friendly but also incredibly supportive.

The overall impression of this hotel's common areas is completely historical, you can almost hear the voices from past time in the corridors. If it would have been the common areas only I would rate, I would have rated it with 5 stars.
Also the meal in the restaurant was really nice, both the selection of food and drinks together with the preparation.

However the rooms was very 80-th style, the cold water was actually warm and I woke up seeing a flea that had just bit me, jump away, (this was in room 10-11). In the morning I had around 6-9 flea bites on my body.

We stayed at les Glacier hotel, at Courmayeur, for 2 nights , this last week of August, 2025. We had a very disappointing, unpleasant experience, to say the least. We traveled the world and have been to so many hotels, and, we have never been ill-treated like that . Every request we had asked from them, had resulted with dissatisfaction. Francesca , was on the edge, and stressed for the simplest request, we asked for chairs and a small table in the balcony, and we were only granted the chairs. It was a challenge to get few extra hangers. The biggest issue was getting coffee in the morning. Francesca had, disrespectfully told me to go to another hotel , just , because in her opinion, I had too many coffees.
We were a big group, and we had half board booking arrangements, breakfast was decent, but the food served at dinner was
horrible , to say the least .
However, and in fairness to the rest of the staff, the husband was more helpful and approachable, the daughter was pleasant and more helpful. The room was clean and in good condition, No curtains though!!
I will certainly not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor stay at it ever again. It was certainly not worth the price . Customer Service is usually, the first and foremost essential element in hotel business.
It is a shame that , the poor hotel customer service overtook our enjoyment at the magical mountain town of Courmayeur.

We stayed at Hotel du Glacier in Courmayeur during our UTMB recce and couldn’t have asked for a better base camp! 🏔️✨

The location is ideal — just a short walk from the start line of UTMB route and right by the trails, making it perfect for runners and mountain lovers alike. The rooms are cozy, clean, and offer beautiful views of the valley and surrounding peaks. 🌄

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful — from early breakfasts to advice on the best trail access points, they really went the extra mile to support our training stay. 🥐💪

We also loved the peaceful atmosphere and appreciated the quiet nights to rest after long days on the trails. Would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to explore the TMB or prepare for the race.

Thanks for the warm welcome and great hospitality — we’ll be back! 🙏👟🇮🇹

Francesca the hotel manager is amazing! Was very helpful for us from our initial inquiry to everything we needed during our stay.
We booked for 4 skiing days in February. The room was simple and comfortable, very clean. The dinners were amazingly tasty and exquisitely served. The hotel has a ski room, and is a few minutes walk from the main gondola. It is also a 13 minute walk to the main part of the village across the river.

My mum and I just spent a long weekend here and it was incredible. The food was delicious every breakfast and every dinner, the staff were so lovely and Francesca was so accommodating, kind and helpful to us, suggesting things to do and when is best to come back in summer. The hotel has a lovely little museum downstairs too which was really interesting and a cosy tavern with a fireplace too. The whole experience was lovely and I could not recommend a nicer place to stay!!

Amazing experiencie. The owners are incredibly kind and always willing to help. The hotel in general and the rooms are impeccably clean. Rooms are comfortable and cozy.
The location of the hotel is 250m walking to the entry of the ski resort. They even gave us a discount for the ski rental. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff was very nice.
Would definitely recommend and come back again.
