This hotel is so nice and cozy

With my wife we had chosen Pescocostanzo, for the holidays in August 2022, because it is classified as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The stay at the Relais Ducale hotel was a very pleasant experience. Excellent welcome, excellent helpfulness and competence of the staff, beautiful and comfortable room with a very comfortable bed, a spacious room, a bathroom with shower and bathtub with hydromassage. The breakfast is excellent, the one in the room superb. The restaurant attached to the hotel, La Corniola, offers a large and tasty menu and a friendly and helpful staff. All the staff have always been helpful and attentive, from the baggage service to the reception, with the good Caterina and the other employees whose name, unfortunately, I don't remember. The hotel manager, a DOC from Basilicata, is always jovial, helpful and professional. I cordially recommend it to everyone. I will certainly be back next December 2022

The structure needs a restaling is not up to 5 *, the staff are very kind, but in my living room they got lost in a glass of water. As soon as we arrived at 5.30 pm from the ski lifts, I phoned the spa to have a massage for me and my son, they answer me: "there is availability for one person for 25 minutes if he goes down immediately" well let's take off the suit and go downstairs. 5 min. I let my son do the massage and after less than 15 minutes I see him again in the sauna. I ask for explanations and they reply that there were people waiting and the 25 mins were calculated from the phone call charged the same because he booked it by calling 🤦♂️.
€ 50 for 10 min did not change my life, they lost a customer and I just booked a ski holiday with the family at the Pizzalto hotel, we hope for a management that pays more attention to customers, with greater transparency and professionalism. Oh I forgot I asked to speak to the Director ... .. Has anyone seen him? 🤔😊

The evaluation takes into account the warmth and care of the common areas and the kindness and helpfulness of the director and staff, but otherwise the structure is absolutely not up to the even "five stars" it boasts and the prices charged. The "Spa & Pool" advertised in the name is below standards and expectations, quite common, and indeed tending to be small and cramped, with insufficient and mediocre spaces and furnishings. The room was cramped, poorly equipped and with decidedly outdated fittings and details that needed refreshing (the TV didn't even work), not to mention the small, old bathroom, with shower-only wallpaper and accessories from a few decades ago that you wouldn't expect anymore not even in a tourist three-star hotel (and at a third of the cost). As a hotel a real disappointment compared to the claims, too bad.
