Marco Polo B&B in Barletta

We had agreed to check out at 10:30, but the housekeeping staff arrived at 9:30 and rang the bell for checkout. The room's soundproofing was terrible. I don't know what kind of bell was in the room; it rang every minute. The experience was terrible. The room's signal is very poor, and the Wi-Fi is also very poor, almost nonexistent.

The only positive thing is the proximity to the station.
The bed had a tarp underneath...nights felt like a sauna.
The closet was full of spare bedding, so it was almost unusable.
Payment required upon arrival in cash; receipt never seen.
And the best part...THE BIDET IS MISSING.
Not recommended.

I cannot recommend the B&B Marco Polo in Barletta. I was there from the 19th to the 24th of February 2019. Since the communication by mail and phone worked well at the beginning, I was looking forward to a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, it was not like that. The B & B is in a very old building with a fairly steep staircase and short steps. You have to be in great shape to access your room. It was very cold and the heating could not bring the room to a comfortable temperature. In addition, it was very loud throughout the building, during the night and also during the day. In addition, the mattress was not comfortable. My complaint was only a half-hearted apology. In my opinion not the right way to deal with customers.

Booking price 55 € price agreed by telephone without breakfast 45 € ... in the end I paid 65 € and without being able to wash there was no hot water. I complained but nothing, we could not shower.

AND I AM GENEROUS !!!

I must say that for the first time I find myself doing a really negative review !!!
The problem already arises from the booking in collaboration with booking com as, following an error by the staff of the Bed & Breakfast itself, the prices have become a dispute. Fortunately, we paid much less than requested ...
Apart from this thing that we still solved at the origin, we arrive in Barletta and they welcome us with discrete attention.
To show us the rooms we have to face the first difficulty: the slope of the stairs is quite important: for us in good health it was a solvable problem, but I think it would be correct to report it when booking or directly on the website. I imagine stroller, small children, elderly people and I could go on… going up or down these stairs would have been really complicated.
Let's move on to the rooms: the first (Asia) appears senselessly without windows and I repeat: without windows !!!
The second bedroom (Africa) has a window ...
In both, however, poor cleanliness (hair in the sheets and on the ground, bottom of the cup for drinks dirty and with a hair inside, jug of dirty and encrusted hot water and so on with various similar problems)
Smell of smoke in both of them, of mold in one, un-ironed sheets and other small details that I do not delve into.

One more detail: breakfast. I would find it correct to point out that yes, it is possible to do it in the room, but normally you rely on a bar near the structure. Nothing wrong with that, but an inconvenience that adds to the dissatisfaction.
A positive aspect, however, I must point out: they have a direct collaboration with a covered parking (for a fee) right near the structure.
There would be potential… honestly this time I don't think I will go back to Marco Polo in Barletta to give a second chance !!!
