La Sommità Relais & Chateaux in Ostuni

Great hotel with 15 rooms and Suites perched on the Top of Ostunis Fortified Citadel. Loved the Room with a balcony and uninterrupted view of the sea just 8kms away. Thee rooms are all finished in a cream and Wood which is understated and delightful to be in. Plenty of places to find a place and view and enjoy a glass of wine on the various ramparts and terraces. This is a 1 century Palace that has been wonderfully restored. Food is Superb and is a Michelin Star restaurant. Ate a seafood tasting menu by the Chef Sebastian which really was exceptional

Wow wow wow - we had 4 nights there and should not have left , the hotel pictures are true, the town is fab, the staff are really helpful and the local food and people are the best, can't wait to go back 😊 nearby are great beaches too where the sea is clear blue😎

Working in The turism industry i find myself in The beautiful Ostuni. I Had The oportunity To sleep over at The Sommità meaning The top. A great boutique hotel with a breathless Wiew! Don t miss a dinner at The Main restaurant That serve gourmand dishes from the region. A blast! !

Although it's tricky to find at first, this hotel is truly worth the trek and would recommend staying here. Best Bits: breakfast, room terrace, styling and friendliness. Interior design is very contemporary and the staff were very welcoming. We had a problem with our bedroom on arrival, and we were swapped to another more suitable. Then, in the new room I could not get hot water from shower and I had to mention this. The hotel checked the shower and said it was OK. I tried again and it was freezing cold. They were very apologetic and sent some pink champagne to the room! On the last day I was told I was turning the shower knob the wrong way - oh dear, I felt a bit foolish! Breakfast is superb with great selection, wonderful coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice Depending which room you have, you could be disturbed by ringing of catherdral bell in the mornings. We stayed for three nights and became accustomed to the ringing, though. No English TV channels but free wifi A good place to chill out

My husband and I spent 5 days at La Sommita and had an absolutely wonderful time. The hotel’s design is very sleek, tastefully combining the old structure with minimalist interior design. The small courtyards provide a charming space to read and relax. Overall it is a very romantic hotel and I highly recommend you have a glass of prosecco on the upper terrace during sunset, which must be the best spot in town to view the sunset. The staff was extremely helpful in recommending restaurants and beaches. Guna Beach (beach club) was our favourite. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic centre, which is great for evening walks, however your car will be parked in a car park (10Euros/day) that is 10min by foot or you can use the hotel’s small shuttle. I recommend you speak to the hotel before you arrive to understand what the best way of arrival is. The room was spacious, had a unique feel being in a tall vault and it was very clean. A small detail we did note was that as we were in one of the lower rooms, which are in a vault that does not have windows, the room felt a bit damp after showering, as the entrance door was the only means of ventilating. Overall we can very highly recommend this hotel.

Totally disagree with these reviews. La Sommita is a wonderful hotel with incredibly warm and helpful staff. It is set on the top of Ostuni - a very old and charming town - beatuiful with lots of great restaurants. Yes the hotel is not a quaint local farmhouse - its is a luxury hotel and spa - but the vaulted ceilings and carved window details show the building's heritage. It has been lovingly restored. It is small - only ten rooms - so is intimate and private. It is perfect for a chilled few days away. I've been there four times now. we get a car and get out and about to the beach. Breakfasts are great but we eat out most of the time as the restaurants there are so fabulous. There is also a spa which is great for relaxing treatments. For those who report 'style over substance' I fear they don't 'get' what La Sommita is all about. If you want authentic Puglia masseria/farmhouse hotel, there are hundreds to choose from. if you want a chic, intimate, relaxed and stylish long weekend away, la sommita is perfect. we split a holiday once between the two so you experience both. very different experiences but you cant compare - they're both fab but different. its so close to brindisi too which makes it more convenient for those near stansted than most getaways in the UK. Staff are so obliging and respond warmly if you treat them as you wish to be treated. if you go in with your nose stuck in the air and clap your hands wanting five star euro-hotel service, i can imagine you may be met with some contempt. i was tempted to write a less glowing review in the hope that it will stay the tucked-away little unknown hotel that it is at the moment, but I felt compelled to say something after reading these not too hot reviews. And if you're in Ostuni, you MUST eat at La Sparacima - it's just the best.

A true five star experience. Spectacular hotel, unbelievable service and kindness from the staff, and ours was a gorgeous and peaceful room. The food is great. Although I feel bad that the hotel may be forced by to house a very expensive restaurant - that is out of step with the rest of the modest prices in the town. I'm sure the food is great, and the restaurant staff and the superb manager of restaurant took thoughtful and greatly appreciated care during our wonderful and pristine breakfasts. (It's not a complaint. The restaurant may be also amazing...It's just a suggestion.) This place is amazing! And people who work here could not be kinder and more professional. Ostuni - it's a bit touristy. The big attraction for us was seeing the 2,000-year-old year-old olive trees and learning how olive oil is made as part of a bike trip that the hotel graciously arranged. In sum, for the days we were here, we felt most fortunate to be in such a magnificent hotel with such great people!

This is one of the best hotel stays I have ever had. The architecture and design is beautiful and the staff are flawless. I would highly recommend a trip to the spa, it completely surpassed my expectations.

We lived this hotel. The pick up by Tuc Tuc from the car park was really useful and it was an excellent service throughout our stay. Every member of staff was excellent. The rooms / views great and in a stunning location. The breakfast was a really good choice and cooked eggs to your liking every day. Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Everyone goes to Ostuni has to stay at La Sommità! Friendly staff, amazing view and all the little touches make you feel like home! The hotel itself is beautiful and tastefully designed! I didn’t want to leave on my last day there!
