Masseria Le Carrube in Ostuni

This is a wonderful place. The guest rooms are immaculately clean. Staff very friendly. The vegetarian restaurant is excellent and the location with the old olive press is neat. Breakfast is superb with lots of options and fresh local produce. We loved our 4 night stay here. It’s a good base for day trips in the region.

Superb traditional Masseria updated with modern touches. Lovely arched ceiling in our room, large terrace over looking the pools & olive groves. Great staff - all very friendly & helpful. Worth trying the vegetarian tasting menu - even for a non veggie! Handy for Ostuni. Very relaxing location.

Cute little hotel but very let down by its food offering. The restaurant is vegetarian only with one option per course which changes daily. We ate in the restaurant once and we had goats cheese risotto which didn't really taste of anything followed by a chick pea dish that I wasn't a fan of either. There is also an outdoor pizzeria with great pizzas, but isn't open every night. On our last night it rained so the pizzeria was shut. We didn't want to risk the vegetarian restaurant again and our children would not have eaten anything on that menu anyway. It was frustrating because it meant we had to drive into town to get something to eat. A shame because this place isn't cheap. If the restaurant had a normal menu this place would be much more appealing. Also the pool is very small and not really suitable for children. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the pool in our first day one of the staff members told us that our children aren't allowed to jump in the pool because it's dangerous, which was surprising. Taxis in the area are very expensive and we paid €100 for an 18 minute round trip. That means you mostly need to drive to places. Parking in the local town Ostuni was a bit of a nightmare too and it took us 30 minutes to find somewhere to park on a Tuesday night. Ostuni is an attractive town but would recommend booking for dinner as we had to try half a dozen restaurants before we found one with space for 4 of us.

This property was beautiful. Housekeeping staff was excellent! Breakfast was delicious with many options including scrambled eggs, pancakes, mixed fruits, juices, and pastries!

This was a great location for us to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. Beautiful, peaceful hotel with really excellent staff. For us, the vegetarian restaurant was the only drawback. We still enjoy wholesome Italian food, & therefore on some nights we drove off to restaurants on the nearby coast or nearby villages. Breakfast was outstanding & the pizza restaurant also ticked our boxes. We would like to mention the excellent Lucia & Asia from the staff, but the overall level of attention to detail was outstanding. Clean bedsheets every day, with clean towels TWICE a day. On many occasions, we were the only people around the pool - perfect!! Would highly recommend this hotel, but a car is essential & evening meals are for a certain taste. Would we return? Without a doubt.

Amazing room Great swimming pools - not big but very relaxing. Helpful friendly people. One night dinner was a vegetarian tasting menu. OK but rather dull A good pizza cooked in a proper wood fired pizza oven was delish Best breakfast. But please, either drop the taped music in the dining area; or if you can’t do that get a longer loop.

We had a brilliant stay here. The breakfast is spectacular with so many choices. The dinner options are delicious too - room service, pizza night and their incredible vegetarian tasting menu. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful to my husband, myself and our 8 month old baby. The hotel is stunning with gorgeous pool, incredible fruit and olive trees. They recommended us some beach clubs to visit. Would definitely visit the hotel as a couple or with a baby (baby cot was happily put into our room). I definetly think this property doesn’t get the attention it deserves. We stayed in a family suite in Le Carrube and had a second room for my parents - both rooms were great but room 16 ( suite) was fabulous. huge by italy standards and perfect for a family of 4 with plenty of private space for kids. Immaculate and clean. Aside from the picture perfect location the staff couldn’t Be nicer , more interactive or efficient. they made it impossible to have complaints. On one night when we were too tired after a boat trip they set up our courtyard like a beautiful restaurant for room service . we also got to experience a euro cup game / pizza party in the olive groves that was a highlight for my soccer loving son. I felt as if I was at a private villa- the staff : anna, Pietro, Matteo and many others went above and beyond. I would only wish there were some more activities or food options on site. with being so far from other towns: properties they need to offer more on premises. when I inquired about things they said they offered ( olive oil, wine tasting) they deferred me to a 3rd party who 1) took weeks to respond and I already had plans and 2) wanted me to go elsewhere and it was quite costly, Also, you can use borgo egnazia beach clubs ( also fabulous) but I realized after any one could and would pay the same amount. they should offer a discount or at least complimentary transportation ( a courtesy car or town shuttle would be fabulous here ) . regardless I would recommend this property in a second to anyone!

My Wife and I are on a walking trip from Locorotondo to Ostuni. Due to the blistering heat we had to take shelter. Messeria Le Carrube was fortunately a short distance from our route. The Staff graciously welcomed us and treated us to fresh water melon and ice cold water. Such hospitality is seldom found. Unfortunately we had already pre-booked accommodation otherwise we would have definitely stayed at Messeria Le Carrube.
