Masseria Valente in Ostuni

After reading numerous positive reviews about Masseria Valente, I was disappointed with our 2 night stay. First of all the rooms are right infront of the restaurant (so it isn't quiet) On our second night there was a party of 50 people and the music was blasting through our room until midnight with so much noise (not what you want when you have a baby) This was a huge let down. I had to complain at midnight because it was unbearable. The shower in the room was cold until about 3 pm, and our stove did not work, and we had to use a match to light it. Quite honestly the staff were not friendly..not a good morning nor a smile and when I complained about the noise and the shower, they were totally disinterested. The pool is nice and big, the breakfast is fine with lots of choice (you couldn't eat outside because it was full of wasps, but not their fault though) The rooms are clean but small. The setting is pretty, set in the olive groves, but I came back home feeling totally un relaxed, having not slept due to the noise. I think the price we paid was way too much. However, it is August, so that is probably why. We won't be coming back here.

The staff were so friendly and helpful; 10/10 for them. The setting of the property and surrounds in expansive, old olive groves is wonderful! The food at the restaurant was also lovely and so convenient given our late arrival at the property. The pool area is also fabulous. The size of the rooms were generous and clean.
