UNA HOTELS MH Matera in Matera

Modern hotel. But without **** treatment. The staff had the cordiality and friendliness of the barracks from ex communist states. We really didn't feel welcome... No smile or friendly word at breakfast.We were here in autumn so the outdoor pool was closed. We had to pay 30 euros for the indoor pool and wellness (90 min), which we didn't. The first time we experienced this.
NOT RECOMMENDED if you want to be **** pampered. There are much better options!

We took 17 of our customers on a Southern Italy trip. We stayed in four hotels through out our trip, this was our least favorite. Here are dome of the reasons why:
-Place looked a little disheveled. We believe the building and grounds were under construction and the hotel did the best they could to hide it.
-The bar tender our first night had a limited menu on the drinks he could create. He told me no, that he could not make a Cosmopolitan. Weird, the rest of the nights the bartender was fine.
-The breakfast buffet was the worst that we had been to in a long time. The food choices we very plain with not a large variety and an over abundance of bread/carbohydrate choices ie. pastries, muffins, breads etc. It was mostly all carbohydrates.
-I went to the gym to scope it out when we arrived, as I always do and it was very dark and had an eerie feeling to it. There were two big piles of what appeared to be "dirt" or debris in two different rooms.
Hence, the fitness center had an eerie feeling in the evening, I was not comfortable to go there by myself and workout in the early morning.
-We all checked out and moved onto the next location and the next hotel. People asked for receipts and they were told they couldn't have them. People including out guide asked multiple times if we owed anything and everyone was told multiple times that we did not. The next thing we knew we got a phone call a couple of days later asking for city taxes that the hotel neglected to collect. We had paid ours, but the hotel neglected to charge everyone else, even asked multiple times if there was anything else owed.
-The WIFI password is only good for two devices for two days. This was an inconvenience for us as we were both working remotely running our business there.
-I'll stop here, hopefully they get their act together.

Usual hotel for simple stay. Nice pool, but not very friendly personell. No signs about pools and no one to explain the rules. Good brakfast.
