Hotel Regina del Mare

Horrible experience! After 2 hours from Rome and more than an hour on a boat from Naples to this island. Plus 35 to 40 minutes on a bus, then walk around to look for the hotel for another 1 hour 45 minutes under the sun 96 F with two young kids. It’s not worth it! The actual location of the hotel and the address they sent in the confirmation is about 0.7 mile away. The only access way to this hotel is on a unstable wooden walkway with multiples holes in between the wood blocks.
In the confirmation email they sent in English to “call for help with luggages at the Madison square.” Nobody picked up the phone so we had to walk around almost two miles before we can find it, with occasionally stops to ask the local people. We were using google map and still couldn’t find the hotel.
They never said in their advertise that they are sharing the building with another hotel. There is another hotel in the lower level which totally confusing as they pointed us up multiples stair case to go around each room looking for the reception room which is a combination of a dinning area.
We carried all the heavy luggages to the top level without a lift.
None of their staff speak English, not even a word hello or thank you. They looked as us blankly as the troubles we have been through looking for the hotel wasn’t their problem.
I felt cheated because in their confirmation they sent us in English. After that they didn't response to our inquiry. I had to send multiple inquiry before they response in Italian.
Then they want to keep our passports until we check out which I refused.
The room has no air condition. Small room, bath room is small, shower is so small, a 13 years old would not easy to move around.
I found two mosquitos in the bath room. No AC and cannot open the door at night for cool air due to mosquitos.
A small stream is flowing along side of this building to the ocean front. What is that? Sewage? Utility water waste? Dirty tissues floating with trash in front of the building.
The boat that taking people to another beach is belong to the lower level hotel. This Regina del Mare offers nothing.
This experience is extremely unpleasantly. Look where else if you dont want to spend hours of looking for this hotel like us.
