Hotel Cavour in Bologna

When we jumped into the taxi at the airport and asked for Hotel Cavour, ours drivers immediate response was, "great choice, fantastic hotel!" The hotel is located in a perfect area for all the sights and shopping districts of Bologna. The very warm welcome was amazing, as was our deluxe room in a modern part of the hotel. We soon were able to adjust the thee radiators and "warm-con" heating. The bed was firm and extremely comfortable. Our was a split level room with limited view, but what we had was a superb view of the towers. (Note this did look out onto an enclosed void of windows, some guests chose to smoke out of the windows, - forbidden but who can control the guests?) We simply closed our window. The staff are probably the best in town! Not one member failed to acknowledge us or smile. They made the hotel a home. Breakfast was served from a central room serving three other seating areas. A choice of meats, cheeses, croissants, various breads, sometimes pancakes, cakes, cereal, fruits and juices. The hot selection was bacon and scrambled eggs, all with ample quantities during the various times we chose to dine. Coffee...... This is requested from two staff "roving" the rooms, clearing tables, making guest happy etc. Nico was a star, and served with perfection each day! The cups are amazing too! Perhaps a bean to cup auto dispenser of various coffees might ease the pressure on staff and add to the experience for the guests. Finally the hotel has a small bar open till 2200, here we had some great cocktails hand produced with perfection! This could be a four star hotel with ease....look at the accolades around the place if you go.

BOLOGNA CAVOUR Nice contemporary furnished hotel! Staff is nice and helpful! Room is spacious and there’s all you need and everything, Tv, A/C, blinds, works properly! Continental breakfast is NOT superb! The hotel location is a must basically you can walk everywhere! Average price

Splendid hotel . Very professional reception staff who made our check inn very easy and quick . Stayed in top floor room and was much impressed by quality feel and ambience. Breakfast good too . Very much recommend this fine hotel .

Comfortable, classy, modern atmosphere in ancient building, friendly staff, center of town, continental breakfast, good cappuccinos, clean, quiet. To return if in Bologna!

This historic hotel is in a great location in the old part of Bologna within walking distance to the main Street and easy walking to great restaurants. The room was large with very comfortable beds. Very good breakfast in the mornings. Good staff but not overly friendly.

A hotel with apparently many different types of rooms in the middle of Bologa. We had a very large and very, very high standard room on the first floor. Not spectacular, but very good, excellent bed, view into the small alley (Via Gito), large bathroom with all amenities. The staff is friendly and breakfast offers a very good choice. All in all a very good value for money place.

I don’t write many reviews, but this hotel deserves my time and the credit it’s due. It’s a modern hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are very comfortable and both of us appreciated the effective blackout curtains. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. All in all, I was very impressed and will certainly recommend it to family and friends. There’s also the added bonus of a great restaurant on its doorstep and an excellent cocktail bar, Guero, a mere 3 minutes walk away.

This is a really nice hotel for 3 stars, the location is great, it's modern and clean. My only things would be that I asked for a double bed, but we had two single beds and normally you have a mattress cover to help hide the join, this didn't, so felt like two singles pushed together. Also breakfast was good, but two people working doing mostly coffees, which meant food wasn't replenished, first day the scrambled eggs were cold, second day luke warm, which was disappointing. But I think for a 3 star hotel, this is definitely worth staying at.
