King Hotel in Cesenatico

For anyone who ventures into this hotel, so to speak, booking through booking.com, be aware that the three-euro deposit per room taken by credit card will not be refunded. All under the table, of course. I should start by saying that I was in Rimini for the TTG (Tourist Travel Agency), and after searching the entire Riviera on booking.com, I found this place at a good price. Well, after a few days, checking my credit card app, I realized the three-euro refund wasn't there. Because at the hotel they tell you this: "The refund is automatically made after your stay." I sent three emails to report this anomaly, but all I received were insults, with my name mangled, and the usual phrases like "we'll check with the management and let them know" or "stop by the hotel" because they said they'd offer a cash refund at the front desk. Shame on you. I live in the province of Florence. And the most pitiful and miserable thing is this arrogance and indifference. It's strange that the Finance Police and the Cesenatico Hotel Association haven't taken action yet, because this behavior is also a loss for the entire Cesenatico community.

What can I say? Non-existent service, for the first time in my life, with a credit card guarantee and a reservation made way in advance, I'm asked to pay for the entire vacation, including tourist taxes, at check-in. The minibar was empty, cockroaches in the room, and probably bedbugs, because we came back covered in pustules and had to go to the emergency room, including medical care. Yellow pillows. Towels smelled awful, reminiscent of vinegar, probably used instead of fabric softener. When the room is made up, the bed is simply made and the wastebasket is changed. The bathroom fixtures are unsealed and stained. Breakfast was completely devoid of any indication of the product, or even a tag that would at least indicate which of the eighty-seven cakes and croissants they were made of, what flavor they were, and what was inside. A member of the staff berated two kids in the dining room in front of the guests present for breakfast. At check-in, they told us they'd changed hotels and therefore given us an "upgrade" room at no cost... And I'm tempted to say thank goodness...
Huh! I frequent the area every year and think it was the worst location. Prices were average for all the other three-star hotels, but they're not in this state.
I'd like to attach photos of the cockroaches, but this review won't allow it.

I booked this hotel through Booking.com with my sister. My reservation was canceled 24 hours in advance, and hers just 12 hours before departure.

The reason? The usual excuse that the credit card was "invalid." I re-entered my details three or four times, and even used a different card, both working perfectly (used with no problems a few days earlier on Booking). My sister did the same: she re-entered her details several times, but her reservation was still canceled.

The telephone contact we provided was useless: no solution, just the offer to rebook the same room at over 50% more than the initial price.

I've been using Booking.com for years and have never experienced anything like this. And it's certainly not an isolated incident: just read other customers' reviews to understand that this "technical problem" is actually a recurring issue.

I strongly advise against this property: you risk being left without accommodation just hours before departure.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel King from August 11th to 14th.
The room was cleaned well, every day. The staff and the cleaning ladies were also very friendly and kind.
The bathroom was small, two people couldn't fit in it at the same time, and the shower door was broken.
My wife (who has celiac disease) had been told she was celiac. During the first few meals, there were many problems with dishes containing gluten, which she can't eat. Moreover, she noticed it, not the waiters.
The customer service at the hotel wasn't great; there was never anyone at the reception, neither in the afternoon nor in the evening.
We also had a terrible experience with the elevator; we got stuck inside and had to free ourselves. Furthermore, when we reported that the elevator was out of order, they didn't believe us at first until they confirmed it.
The location is excellent, because it's really just a 5-minute walk to the beach.
I don't think I'll return to this hotel.
I didn't have a good time, and the waiters and the maître d' were a bit rude at times. The information on the reservation was different from what was actually stated. It said there was a buffet and that drinks were included. In reality, there was no buffet, and we only had half a liter of wine and a liter of water. Everything else was paid extra at checkout.

Great location, room a bit small. Structure to improve .... excellent welcome from the staff, in particular from "Marta" very competent person, very kind, very helpful .... Marta is a five star .. family Lacalamita
