Grande Albergo Roma in Piacenza

I stayed in Grande Albergo Roma for 10 nights, so I may have seen both the bright and the dark side of this hotel.

They have a very old style room, but everything is new, so nothing against the room, one of the best I found recently.
Except for the fact that my room, at fifth floor, had a little cricket invasion. I was killing around 3/4 bugs per night, and there was always one singing all night.

The parking lot is a nightmare if you have a car longer than a Fiat 500. Sure, you can fit every car if you really want to spend 10 minutes parking, but I am not expecting this from a 4 stars hotel.

They charged my coworker for breakfast every day, although both of us were leaving the hotel before breakfast was even available.

The reason for the 1 star is that they tried to scam me at the checkout, charging me 14 days of breakfast when I had only 1, and my reservation was without breakfast. After my complaint, I still didn't receive any answer from them. I don't know if it's a normal behaviour but it shows a terrible customer service and lack of internal organization.

Speaking about my stay. The hotel is a average business hotel for an Italian town, the good things is that it's quite clean, a bit more modern than other hotels nearby, central and the room is comfortable, well insulated and spacious.

The downsides, beside the obvious scam attempt, are that the parking spot is quite tight and hard to manoeuvre in, the amenities beside the room (gym, and the breakfast buffet I only tired once) were very poor. You'd find better breakfast options at local bars and better gyms with daily or weekly subscriptions nearby.
