Bajamar Beach Hotel in Formia

My family and I stayed at the BAJAMAR hotel from Jul 1-4. One of the few positive things I can say is that the staff was professional and polite. Now for the very negative thing... temps were in the 90's when we were at the hotel and there was NO AC!! It was absolute agony. We let the staff know about this and one of them come to verify. Indeed...no ac. They provided no solution. We asked for a fan at least but they couldn't provide it until the next day. So another sleepless night. The next morning we get a flimsy fan for the whole suite. My God...how is this hotel still in business? I overheard two other guests complain about their sleepless night due to no ac in their rooms! We had to literally go and sit in the lounge area to get away from the heat of our room. Breakfast was decent but nothing special considering the room rates. If you want an actual cappuccino or espresso and not the bland ones they offer from their vending machines...go to one of the lidos nearby. Lido Tirreno, up the street from the hotel, makes a great cappuccino from an actual coffee machine and their cornettos are delicious. The hotel location is great...across the street from the beach but charging 20 euros a day for 2 chairs and an umbrella is a bit much. They can at least offer a discount for guests of the hotel. We should have gotten our chairs and umbrella free after suffering from no ac for the entire stay. I suggest that during the winter season, this hotel better upgrade their AC and from what they are charging for a subpar hotel, they have more than enough to upgrade the non-existent ac. Not coming back to the Sauna hotel. Overpriced and absolutely not worth it.
