The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, the reception staff are very accommodating, approachable and friendly. The cleaning staff are also lovely, the room was cleaned everyday around 11am, the whole premises are very clean and well looked after. Bed we had was super comfortable! And we loved the huge painting hanging over it.
Location is fantastic, around a 15 min walk away from Ferrari Fountain and city center, very close to the aquarium and antique port. Right next to the Darsena metro station so can get around easily if you don't fancy walking far. The area at night as other reviews have pointed out is a little intimidating at first, but that's not something the hotel has control over. We stayed for 12 days and I had no issues walking around during the day or evening, the people hanging around outside sometimes seem "sketchy" but are pretty harmless and don't bother people who walk past/enter the hotel through the green gate rather than reception which is on the street side.
The vibe of the hotel was very unique, music themed lobby and communal area with vinyls and other music related items!

What a cute little hotel with its music vibes. Loved also the music they play. The rooms are clean, nice and and it is in the old town, perfect location.

Never in my life have I experienced such little human decency as I did by the staff and management of this hotel. Two weeks before we were scheduled to stay at this property, my wife learned that her father passed away unexpectedly and we immediately rebooked our flights to depart our trip early and return home to her family. As I worked through the implications of cancelling our trip the next day, I began contacting our various accommodations to request cancellation and explain the situation.
Originally I contacted the Red and Blues Music Hotel through booking.com requesting cancellation and refund. They promptly declined and said they would cancel and keep all our money. I called them directly to explain the situation and asked for a little compassion, while offering to provide the proper documentation so they knew we had honestly experienced this tragic loss. The response I received was “You’re choosing to attend the funeral and not come to our hotel. That’s a choice so we will not be refunding you. If you want a refund, you should have paid the extra cost when booking.” I was then and still am so shocked by the callous response that I ended the call before I replied with the anger I felt.
While I understand that they’re running a business and have to make an income, I think providing two weeks notice, during peak travel season would offer them enough time to relist our room. For comparison all of our other hotels immediately refunded and apologized for our loss. The Airbnb we were staying at even refunded the portion of our stay when we had to depart early. I’m not sure when we stopped being human, but I can’t in good conscience recommend anyone patron this hotel and the selfish people that mange it.

A great budget option in central Genova, but I have stayed at better places around for less. Its name is different from what google shows, its called Red and Blues Music Hotel.
It was one of the cheapest options in the city when I visited, but it was still quite expensive (upwards of €30/night). The location in perfect, right next to the metro stop and close to the train station and attractions. I see many reviews mentioning that the neighbourhood is dangerous, but this was not my experience. Sure, the area is very international, but I never felt in danger; also police patrols the nearby streets quite frequently. The only problem is its still noisy in the middle of the night, and since windows don’t close perfectly, it can be annoying when you’re trying to sleep.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and the receptionist guy was especially friendly and helpful. Overall, a good option for a short stay, but not the best value.

Unfortunately, our experience with this hotel was extremely disappointing. The check-in process itself was fine, but after just one hour we decided to leave because we felt very unsafe in the surrounding area. The neighborhood is in poor condition, dirty, noisy, and full of suspicious մարդկանց, which created a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
Even though we didn’t stay overnight or actually use the room, the owner showed no understanding and refused to refund even part of the payment. We found this highly unprofessional and unfair, especially since we left almost immediately after arrival.
I would not recommend this hotel, mainly due to its location and the lack of consideration for guests. There are definitely much better and safer options nearby.

Fine for a night!
Staff were really nice and helpful, condition of property was dated. Bathroom was very makeshift and everything needed work. Room was a good size, but bed was old, soft mattress and made so much noise every-time you rolled over! Area didn’t feel great at night, would be fine for a couple but I wouldn’t stay here alone again.

Good design hotel
It has the best design packed with music history and equipment, and room is clean and comfort with good design, it also offered bags carry. I'd very good experience.

Around the property a little sketchy. Hotel was nice and clean. About a block from more touristy old town. Everyone was lovely, I was there with my daughter so possibly different view of area if wasn't on high alert mode.
