Hotel Genziana in Genoa

Absolutely terrible experience. The hotel is located in a very noisy and unsafe area with drugs and prostitution all around. I did not sleep the entire night because of the constant noise and insecurity outside.

The room conditions were unacceptable: freezing cold water, filthy showers, and overall very poor hygiene standards.

To make things even worse, when I complained about the ice-cold showers, the receptionist became aggressive and insulted me instead of helping. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior.

After reading other reviews, it is clear many guests had the exact same problems. I honestly regret staying here and would never return in my life. Avoid this place if you care about safety, cleanliness, or basic respect.

Very bad hotel located in a VERY DANGEROUS area of Genova, many thiefs, drug dealers and prostitutes. 0% recommended. We called the hotel many times the first day in Genova because it was dangerous to arrive to the hotel and nobody pick up the phone. We decided to book another hotel because even the taxi driver told us literally "you are not safe, leave this area". We asked the hotel for a refund and they told us that is not their problem soo they didnt refund as any of the 3 days that we booked (even we didnt sleep any day there). There is no info of the terrible location of this hotel in booking.com or other place. Very bad experience, DON'T COME TO THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR SAFETY!

The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and kind. However, the surrounding area was absolutely terrible. There were drug dealers, brothels, and sex workers on the streets. I don't want to associate this with the hotel itself, but I felt unsafe and wanted to get away as quickly as possible whenever I was coming or going.

This hotel made my worste nightmare a reality. After traveling from the south of Italy we arrived at the hotel at 10:45. There were people sleeping on the streets and not a clean area at all. This was the ONLY time in 3 weeks in Italy we were scared. I had prePAID, booked this hotel for 3 nights. When we arrived at the hotel we were told there were NO ROOMS for us. No text, email NOTHING!!! Although the Genoa had taxis the taxis would not even come to the area. I am still fighting with them to get my money back. If 0 stars were an option it would be it. I SHOULD SAY THE MAN WORKING THE FRONT DESK WAS VERY NICE AND TRIED TO HELP. I would only recommend this place to someone you dont like.

I would definitely not return. It was very noisy as we were on the first floor, squeaking doors and people coming in all hours... NOT AGAIN. stay clear...

This is the worst area to stay in. Absolutely unsafe. And the amenities offered by the property are incorrect, there are no laundry facilities unless you would like to walk down the street and be accosted to buy ***** on your way. Private bathrooms are outside the room which is inconvenient, and streets are awful, noisy and unsafe. As an added bonus, prior to staying here we requested information about parking within the ZTL and were told the local parking complex at Marina Antico would provide day passes and discounted parking, and there was no ZTL pass, and when we asked again at the property, they said they knew nothing about it, so we received a fine.
Bad hotel for tourists all around, and just forget it if you don't speak Italian because you will be treated in a wildly condescending manner, which is quite rich for a hotel such as this.
