Residence Picalè in Alghero

Air condition cost extra. Be sure to get a valid receipt or they charge you twice ! Not very clean and staff quite unprofessional. The only nice thing is the location close to the beach. But know there are few rooms with a real sea view. Would not stay again.

This is not a apartment block suitable for families. First of all there is a load of stairs which makes it difficult for buggies. Secondly and importantly it is not safe there is a number of areas that have high ledges with hardly any barriers especially around the pool. Further the pool only has about 1.5 metres of a shallow end at 1.1 metres with the rest of the pool at 2.1 metres. Finally there is a number of hidden charges, such as air conditioning city tax and if you don't clean your dishes on check out you are charged 30 euro. The worst thing about my stay after all that was actually the staff. They are the most unprofessional I have seen especially on reception. I would not advice staying here.

The location of hotel is great. Nearby is one of the best ice cream places I have been to. Close to a supermarket as well and the beach is just a few metres away. The room standard is very low and poor. The beds are awful and the noise from outside is constant. We did not expect so much traffic but there were cars all day and evening long. The staff of the hotel were nice to us. The pool area is also very good. One minus is that air condition is not free of charge, it is rather pricy. One down side with these apartments is that you need to clean the kitchen until perfect before your departure, otherwise the hotel will charge you a high fee, around 45 euros. I have never experienced this before and it did not feel very pleasant.

Location: Good there’s a few coffee shops and nice restaurants nearby. You’re right opposite the beach. Pros: There is a market on Wednesday which is close by and well worth a visit! The night porter was so nice and informative when we looked for information on the market he gave us a map and marked out the route. Clean and tidy nice rooms. Cons: We were staying for a week, we arrived on Sunday and our room cleaned on Tuesday (rooms are only cleaned once we were told when we asked for new towels). Therefore, the towels were to last for 6 days, as the room was cleaned too early, it should have been halfway through week. Fair enough if you have policy we don’t have an issue, but the apartment should not have been cleaned so early! Also our towels got wet on the patio because it rained during the night so had we not gotten them on that Tuesday two days into 7days which was too early would you have left us with wet towels?? When asked for soap towards the end of the week (second last day) I was told no it was only on arrival that you got soap! There was only 2 soap, 2 hats and 2 gels yet three staying in the hotel so not enough for 3 people!! We were 3 adults and expected to use 2 tiny bar of soap for the week to was our hands. I was told “it’s a welcome package” when I said we are checking out tomorrow she told me “maybe I should go buy some” supply enough for the number of people staying! It’s not busy season this is October so surly one extra soap wouldn’t have killed them? On check in we had the same receptionist that refused us towels and soap (clearly on a power trip) and found her to be rude, unfriendly and unhelpful during both encounters! She was on her phone showing her colleagues videos and I was left standing waiting! Bins not changed and no bags available for a week, if they want people to recycle as per the sheet they should provide bin bags for the food waste bin.
