Hotel Punta Barone in Salina

Angela runs with great love and care this wonderful hotel in Santa Marina, on the island of Salina. We had the great pleasure of staying there over four nights last May, enjoying the excellent views of Paneria and Stromboli across the sea from the balcony in our gorgeous room in the hotel. Breakfast was delicious and it was a pleasure to start the day in that cool airy room, chatting to Angela and exchanging tips with other guests. It is the kind of place where one wouls like to stay forever!

Best part was how helpful Angela was. She knew all the places one needed to go and was very nice. The hotel is located at the end of the town, overlooking Stromboli, this is a hilly hotel (all on varying levels so not good if you can't do stairs). But the internet worked (even if the phone didn't), and most of the rooms have views. The breakfast room is lovely and I could have sat there all day. Breakfast is your basic Italian breakfast with cornetto, good coffee, jams, cold cuts, yoghurt, etc.

It’s an amazing place, I was living my dreams here!! The hotel is fantastically located: in a very quite place not far from a port, just on beach and has got amazing views over other islands - Stromboli, Panarea and Lipari. Views from my room were just stunning, the hotel has got also several terraces where it’s possible to chill out and enjoy the views and immerse into the nature!! Dawns are just crazily amazing here and it’s also enjoyable to see reflections of a sunset.

Practical highlights: a main street with shops/restaurants is just around a corner, a bus stop is very close to move around the island.

The hotel is very clean and designed with love. Angela, the owner, takes care of each detail, arranges great breakfasts and is very helpful advising where to go and what to do!!

WiFi is good.

Great location with beautiful views, close to the port and less than 5 minutes walk to jump in the sea! Angela is a friendly host and readily provided lots of useful information.

Rooms are basic but clean, the only thing missing to make it 5 stars is the lack of a restaurant - unusual for breakfast to not be included or even offered, especially for the price.
