We had the Garden View rooms and I have to say I was shocked to find a very musty smell upon entering. We immediately asked to switch off the AC, the maintenance guy came and opened the AC vent which was filled with mold. The hotel has an amazing view of the coast and Mt Etna. And it is only a 5-10 minute walk down some stairs and hill to the main pedestrian street. Breakfast is good and can be enjoyed on the terrace with the view. One drawback is the shower is ridiculously small with a lightweight curtain that comes against you so there is no room to wash and water gets all over the floor.

The hotel is a bit tired; it needs to be modernized. I can imagine in the 50s/60’s it was the place to be in Taormina. It's definitely dated but very clean, very relaxing and just enough away from the crowds that it was super enjoyable. Booked a double room with a balcony & got allocated a single room with no balcony. Emailed hotel 3 times to refund difference in price & they are ignoring me.
