Hotel Caparena in Taormina

Many friends accuse me of frequently leaving less-than-positive reviews of the places I stay. It's true that luck plays a major role, but it's also true that I often and willingly rely on traveler reviews for helpful tips on how to get around in near-total safety. Regarding the Caparena, it's worth saying that it was one of the best hotels I've stayed at recently. The staff was exceptional, professional, kind, and pleasant. The cleanliness was excellent, the ground floor room had a small terrace, and the room was excellent with very comfortable beds. The hotel is a few kilometers from Taormina, but a free shuttle service is available for guests, with several trips to Taormina throughout the day. In this regard, I'd like to welcome and especially thank our "transporter," Salvatore, a very nice and polite man who gave us helpful tips on what to see and do in Taormina during our trips. We used the hotel's beach, and the bar staff were also wonderful; I recommend the excellent coffee. Finally, a restaurant. Here, too, I can say that you need atmosphere, a cool breeze, and more than excellent cuisine; it made the evening more than pleasant. (Three days - the restaurant where I ate best). It's a pity I didn't choose half board; excellent cuisine and more than good prices for hotel guests. What can I say... I recommend and highly recommend Caparena.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Caparena! The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The hotel’s beachfront location is truly stunning! Clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food was another highlight. Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented at every meal. Everything was kept very clean, from the rooms to the common areas, which we really appreciated. Our only disappointment was the air conditioning. Unfortunately, it struggled to keep the room cool, and at times it felt quite hot, especially at night. This was a bit uncomfortable given the summer temperatures. Overall, though, the positives far outweighed this one drawback, and we would definitely consider returning, especially for the beach, the food, and the staff.

Hotel Caparena was very nice with clean rooms and great staff, we had a lovely time in Toamina! The shuttle bus was excellent we used it every day a special thank you to Salvatore, Pipo and drivers! Hotel staff members are attentive, helpful, and very interested in ensuring you have a wonderful time. The suite with an ocean view is everything. The free shuttle into town and back must be reserved in advance so if you plan to use this service on the day/evening of your check in, you should call ahead to be added to the schedule. Reserved seats fill up fast. Wish I had photos to share but it was only for two nights at the end of our vacation. The room finishes are modern and new. Everything is clean and beautiful there. The breakfast is spectacular with gluten free and vegetarian options.

The hotel was good but the carpeting and elevators need replacement. The hotel is on the beach which is a great plus. They provide a shuttle to the center of town which is very convenient.

Slightly out of the main part of Taormina so its a cab ride or shuttle bus into the main part of town. Good sized pool which is gently heated and a pleasure to swim in. Lunch menu is good rather than exciting, we did not eat in the restaurant during the evening so cant comment on that but breakfast was excellent. Seafront and beach area just been worked on, beach is a little pebbly but lovely. Railway line runs between gardens and the beach, not an issue at all for us but some might find it off putting. I think the shuttle bus should go more regularly as it was often full, but its a 10 euro cab ride so not an issue for us. All in all, a nice hotel and one we wold recommend.

This hotel was very nice with an impressive lobby and was right on the beach. You just walk outside and down a short set of stairs, and you are on the beach. The room was a good size with plenty of space, a desk, a chair, an additional comfortable chair and footstool and enough closet space and a safe. The bathroom was a good size, and everything looked new and clean. The balcony overlooking the water was very nice as well, of course. We were with a group and ate breakfast and dinner here. The breakfast buffet was great with plenty of choices. Dinner was also very good with an amazing cannoli dessert. The beach is a rock beach and so you’ll need shoes to walk on it – but it is very beautiful.

Really nice hotel on the beach in Sicily. Rooms clean and spacious and serviced everyday. Staff very friendly and helpful. Fantastic courtesy bus service to Taormina and return. Salvadore was a great driver and gentleman. Did a boat trip and jet ski which hotel staff organised from the beach.

I’ve got to say we were delightfully surprised by this hotel. We booked this place as it was nearby to where we booked our wedding. Travelling with my now husband and our nearly 2 year old. From the minute of walking through the doors we saw how truly nice and special this place was. We just booked a standard room, we were located on the ground floor and the room was a lot bigger than we expected. It was nice and peaceful even being so close to reception in room 112. It was clean, comfortable, well air conditioned. Was just what we needed. We had breakfast included in our price which was continental but had scrambled eggs, bacon, range of cheeses and meats including ricotta. Cereals, pasties and cakes all of the above was of a great standard. You could eat inside or out. The staff in the dining room are even better, gianluca, Gianfrano the waiters and the manager fabrizio. And a lovely lady with short dark hair was amazing with our son, They really made us feel welcome and special, they couldn’t do enough for us. So professional and friendly. We also spent an evening in the restaurant which the food was fantastic. Again great service here too! The beautiful garden and surroundings of the hotel are so picturesque. Nice big pool area including a kids pool. We also spent some time down by the beach bar which was relaxing and I have to mention how lovely the ladies down at the reception area of the beach/shop. Giulia and Maria, so lovely, friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was brilliant Adriano made us feel right at home, so friendly, welcoming and looked after our son if we needed milk warming up, no matter what time of day. The shuttle service from this hotel is fantastic, you pre book your shuttle up and down from Taormina. It’s free too! We loved Salvatore! He made us smile, he was lovely, helpful and genuine. We miss him already!! I have to say, the staff here are a real main reason we would want to come stay again. We live in Sheffield in England but my new husband is originally from Catania, we normally would stay with family but after this trip I know we will be back. Don’t waste any more money staying anywhere else, this hotel offers everything you want and need. Thank you for having us Hotel Caparena! See you again one day I’m sure!
