We had the Garden View rooms and I have to say I was shocked to find a very musty smell upon entering. We immediately asked to switch off the AC, the maintenance guy came and opened the AC vent which was filled with mold. La Plage has magnificent views of the sea and the iconic Isola Bella. The breakfast buffet is delicious and the staff are friendly and attentive. Be aware that the beach is rocky and hard to walk on and it’s difficult to enter and exit the sea for a swim. It’s easy to get up to Taormina via the funivia (cable car) for a 10€ round trip.

Hotel staff members are attentive, helpful, and very interested in ensuring you have a wonderful time. The suite with an ocean view is everything. The hotel has an amazing view of the coast and Mt Etna. And it is only a 5-10 minute walk down some stairs and hill to the main pedestrian street. Breakfast is good and can be enjoyed on the terrace with the view. One drawback is the shower is ridiculously small with a lightweight curtain that comes against you so there is no room to wash and water gets all over the floor.

The hotel is a bit tired; it needs to be modernized. I can imagine in the 50s/60’s it was the place to be in Taormina. Staff were very nice, breakfast was good but the same every day. We had a superior sea facing room which was okay with a nice view but would have appreciated a couple of comfy chairs and some drinks in the fridge and milk for tea & coffee. Views from the hotel and the surrounding area are just fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. The pool is very good. Breakfasts are good. Parking tricky like most of Italy. Bed and pillows ok but not great. Used buses and taxis to access nearby Taormina and Castelmola further up the hill.

This property is beautifully situated and I really felt I was in Sicily! It’s quaint and the staff is very helpful, especially the woman who set up breakfast, Georgina? First they tried to give as a massive “ downgrade” ( room without real window ) - after showing the booking this was fixed, but without any apologies. On the other hand staff was very enthusiastic and helpful regarding the surrounding/ restaurants and tours.

A very warm welcome when we checked in. Very useful explanations. Good recommendations for attractions and restaurants. The beach is quite rocky and difficult to swing in front, even with water shows. We went to neighbor beach for easier access. Breakfast good too. Overall very a very good hotel

Peaceful setting with full of trees and plants, great views of the sea, relaxed atmosphere, right in the water with access to sea - although no sandy beach, a quiet swimming spot.
