Great location just by Rialto Bridge and excellent value for money. The hotel is charming, like going back in time with damasco covered walls and Venetian prints. The rooms are extremely clean, the bed comfortable and the shower great! The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. Overall, a great stay!

The rooms were a good size, always clean and comfortable. The hotel is well connected, with plenty of river boats nearby to access the whole city. Located right next to the Renata Bridge, there are also lots of restaurants in the area. We avoided the obvious tourist ones, as they can be pricey, but just a short walk away we found some fantastic, reasonably priced places to eat. Overall, a great stay—we would definitely choose this hotel again

Beautiful place, well decorated. Really delicious breakfast and amazing location. Confortable bed and room facilities (spacious). As for the down sides: i would say the temperature of the water was impossible to regulate (or it would be cold or really hot), also in the morning period it was a bit loud (with breakfast preparation and movement) so after 8 it was relly difficult to rest.

Stayed three days before we went on a cruise out of Trieste. Hotel was easy to find as it is on the Grand Canal just a block or so from Rialto Bridge. EXCELLENT location. We took a water taxi from the airport. NO lift/elevator, so you must walk up appx. 70 steps for the reception and breakfast. Some rooms have excellent views. Ours did not. Lovely rooms and amenities. Breakfast was excellent. Desk receptionists were very helpful.

Hotel located near main attraction Ponte Di Rialto , breakfast room overlooking Grand Canal. Travelled with teenager felt safe and hotel in great location with easy access to all Venice sightseeing. Room we stayed in was beam ceiling and matching chairs wallpaper and bedding- at first glance proper Venetian old style - but I think that was such quirky touch felt like previous century. We loved it . Bathroom modern with great shower. No hairdryer was provided. It was hot July so needs air con as room felt hot - but I think due to building being antic not sure if air con centralised is even possible. No lift so if you are elderly you would have to take narrow stairs - again must be nature of building being built in many years ago . Access to hotel by water taxi or by foot but no car etc . Staff was lovely, breakfast was great . Easy communication with hotel . Space to leave suitcases if needed for late or early check out etc . Overall we had great stay and definitely coming back soon .

If you are looking for a place that is right on the Grand Cana, next to many shops, bakeries, cafes and restaurants and has a charming authentic Venetian feel then this is the place for you. This hotel has a number of rooms of different types we stayed in the junior suite with a view of the Grand Canal We arrived in Venice by train and then took a private water taxi to the hotel, when we arrived, we went to the hotel, the door is on Sturian street a side street from the main canal. The reception area and rooms are on the 3rd floor. Yes, there are over 65 steps and no elevator as this is a historic building and one of the oldest in Venice, but that should not be a surprise to anyone, their main website states and many reviews state that they have no elevator so if you book without knowing this then you have not done your research. For my wife and I (in our 50's) the stairs were not an issue even on the first and last day when we had to carry our luggage up and down, however if you have mobility issues you may want to take it into consideration. In terms of the room, we had booked the junior suite with breakfast included. the room was very spacious for us, when we entered it looked like we had transported back to the renaissance era with the decor and furnishings, we enjoyed it very much. The room a nice double bed as well as a single bed, two chairs, a closet, electric hot water canister with coffee and tea, a TV, a refrigerator r, a good size bathroom and bath and A/C. The room was very clean and was stocked with towels and shampoo. There are two windows with a gorgeous view of the Grand Canal where we enjoyed looking out in the evenings after returning from all the activities and walking in Venice. The room has an old-fashioned key to lock the door which is kept with the onsite receptionist upon leaving and given back upon returning, the main door to the hotel has a buzzer which the receptionist will buzz you in and there is a receptionist 24 hours a day. For breakfast, the breakfast area is right in front of the junior suites, other reviews said it was noisy in the morning however we did not hear any noise and it was nice to open our door and be right in the breakfast area. Breakfast is 7:30-10, there is the standard breakfast items, coffee, fruit, bread, jam, yogurt, juices, cookies, there was also a gentleman that worked there who provided us a plate of croissants and bread and made us omelets or fried eggs, cheese and meat also can be provided as well as cappuccino or espresso. The breakfast area overlooks the Grand Canal and there are two tables that directly overlook it. In terms of location, it is right on the Grand Canal next to the Rialto bridge and next to many shops, cafes, restaurants and bakeries as well as the water bus stations. In terms of the staff, they were very welcoming, friendly and helpful, they are there 24 hours a day, I want to recognize the gentleman that worked the 3rd shift and served us breakfast, he was very

I am always leery of booking rooms outside of the USA, but I can tell you I stayed here just one night before a Mediterranean cruise to explore Venice for 24 hours, and I was not disappointed. The staff was amazing, waited for me to check in, and they were very accommodating and family-friendly. They went above and beyond for me as well. I had left my jewelry bag in the hotel, and they called me right away and mailed it to my home in NY.

Stayed here for 4 nights - arrived at 2 am and there were no issues with checking in. We didn’t choose a room with breakfast - however the spread look sufficient and delicious. The hotel is a 2 min walk from rialto bridge. Perfect location! Rooms are clean and good size for 2 people. The only downside (although wasn’t an issue for us), the hotel requires climbing 3 flights of stairs. Would consider staying again!

I set out to find a hotel with great views of the Grand Canal at a rate that would not completely blow the budget. The Antica Locanda Sturion Junior Suite with Grand Canal View absolutely delivered. The view to the Rialto bridge was very special - just take a look at the web cam on the website. The decor reminded me of a Tudor palace, reds, golds and wood. Some of the pictures online made me think of an old English pub but it really is quite stylish. The bathrooms are traditional no frills. The staff were friendly and helpful. We left the windows open at night to listen to the live piano music playing in the restaurants below and general hustle and bustle of the canal. This was fantastic but a challenge early next morning as the boats started up and revved their engines. The up side was I got up at 6:30am and photographed Venice. Piazza San Marco is a 10 minute walk when there are no crowds. Light sleepers might be disturbed in the morning even with the windows and shutters closed. Personally I’d still choose the view and atmosphere - Opera singers on Gondolas are a thing! The breakfast room has that great view of the Canal. There’s only two tables that actually have a view but you can come and sit there at anytime during the day and watch the world go by. There’s even tea, coffee and very nice Italian biscuits available during the day. Breakfast is continental plus a limited range of cooked eggs mainly. For us there was a good range of choice which was sufficient. What I consider great value does come with one compromise. As others have written in their reviews, the hotel is on the third floor and the only access is via stairs. I’m middle aged, average fitness according to Apple and was quite puffed carrying up 2x hand luggage about the same weight as a suitcase. In summary, absolutely perfect and great value if you really want to experience the views and atmosphere of the Grand Canal in a traditional setting.

Stayed for the Easter weekend and couldn’t have been happier with the location! The room was clean, nice decor and shower was very good. We had a comfy good nights sleep for the 3nights, being on the 3rd floor helped. The staff are friendly and can’t do enough, especially the 1 day us having an early morning trip booked and we were able to have breakfast slightly earlier :-) The views are great from the breakfast room of Grand Canal and we got used to the stairs, which was no problem! Would happily stay here when we visit again.
