Maison San Marco in Venice

We booked the junior suite with canal view (Room 1). The website says it is supposed to have air conditioning. It does not. Daytime temps are around 90°F, nighttime barely below 80°F. We are miserably hot. I would have given the room 4 or 5 stars if not for this. Put a portable A/C unit in each room, like many of the shops have, or at least don’t advertise A/C.

WiFi barely works, when it works at all. The router is right outside the door to the suite, and there is a repeater inside. It should work.

There is a dorm-sized fridge. It barely cools.

It is spacious, though. There are five of us, and we have plenty of room. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is spacious, except for shower. But the shower head is nice, and it maintains a constant temperature.

Location is pretty convenient. From the train station, you take the water taxi to Rialto, then it’s a 10-minute walk. About the same to Saint Mark’s Square. Pretty good restaurants nearby, but many of the higher-rated ones are across the Grand Canal, making then a 15+ minute walk away.

The host cancelled our booking the day we arrived in Venice. At 10pm at night we were left without accommodation! The host said there was a problem with the bathroom and he cancelled our stay on the booking. He was supposed to give us our money back within 14 days. It's been two months and still no money! Not to mention the stress and search for new accommodation in the middle of the night in high season! The host doesn't answer his email, doesn't answer his phone calls, he's just a bad and greedy person! Far away from such energy and such people.

Don't book this hotel, the staff is rude and kept over 300 EUR in cancellation fees what a joke, we accidentally booked the wrong month and then tried to change it, but the hotel was booked out for the actual dates, so we had to cancel it and the hotel just kept pretty much all of the fees, DON'T DO IT.
