Hotel Shinayoshi in Higashiizu

This is my first time for stay in this hotel Izu.
Hotel is so old but here is attractive for Showa era ppl.
Traditional Japanese cuisine,Amazing hot bath(Onsen)
Almost staffs are foreiners ,but they have good hospitality. I can recommend to stay here at once.
especially couple and families.

As everyone has said, the facilities are aging, but the staff were very considerate.

The room facilities are quite dated and old, but they're generally usable.

For those driving, the hotel is in a great location, with parking available by the sea. The tram station isn't far away, but the station is halfway up the mountain, while the hotel is at the foot of the mountain, on the seaside. The road slope is quite steep. The room window offers a great view, right on the beach.

The staff included many Southeast Asian expatriates, including Japanese grandmothers and grandfathers, who were surprisingly welcoming.

On our check-in day, we were stuck in traffic and couldn't check in until after 9:00 PM. The hotel arranged for a grandmother to wait for us to give us our keys. Dinner was supposed to be served before 6:30 PM. We had originally told the hotel we wouldn't, but they insisted on sending someone to wait for us after we checked in. The service was excellent.

The public hot springs were dingy and dirty due to their age. The in-room hot spring baths were also dingy due to their age, so we only used them for the shower.

The room rate included breakfast and dinner, which were both good. However, the cooking was average, not very tasty, and felt a bit wasteful, like home cooking.
