Kanazawa, Nagata 2-4-8 (2 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The hotel was clean and tidy, with excellent service and a rich breakfast. We were lucky enough to enjoy the snow scenery, which was lovely. The location is superb, conveniently close to both shopping malls and the train station. It offers great value for money and I highly recommend staying here.
Comfortable with sufficient space.
Highly appreciate POLA amenities including face lotion and cream.
Very nice breakfast with great variety (western and Japanese style) including ice-cream and kids corner.
It was a very clean, nice hotel with plenty of amenities and good service. If only the bath was a little bigger, I'd have no complaints.
I'd like to go again.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are many facilities including laundry room, lounge area (with tea and coffee provided), massage chairs and public spa bath; all of which do not require extra charges). The breakfast was delicious and had many food varieties to choose from.
Although the location is not close to any public transport, the hotel offers free shuttle bus to and from the Kanazawa...
There are many free shuttle buses to Kanazawa Station, which was very convenient for dinner. The room was clean, there was parking, and it had a very calm atmosphere even though it was in the city.
Before my trip, I tossed and turned between several well-rated hotels. My biggest concern was that they seemed a bit far from Kanazawa Station and were practically on the other side of the main attractions. But ultimately, I settled on Sai no Niwa, thanks to its high ratings on various websites and no negative reviews. Looking back now, from inquiring about the shuttle bus and receiving the hotel's...

A great traditional Japanese accommodation with half-boarded experience! Loved the dinner & breakfast. so exclusive & yummi food. Friendly staff
Great location, great food, very clean and friendly place to stay and visit the center city Kanazawa
The hotel is quiet and clean with nice Onsen (natural hot spring baths). The location is near the train station but not near enough to hear the trains. The dinner and breakfast were both good. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. It was raining (pouring actually) on us prior to our arrival and they dried our shoes, dried our umbrellas, and wiped us off when we walked in.
We're...
An excellent hotel. The service was also excellent, and the food for both breakfast and dinner was superb. A truly wonderful, high-quality Japanese hotel.

It is within walking distance of Kanazawa Station, Kanazawa Castle, and Higashi Chaya District. You can drink as much Kaga Bancha tea as you like, and you can eat soba noodles for free in the evening. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The hotel reception and waitstaff were very friendly and spoke excellent English. The room was very clean, with a simple yet stylish design. In the evenings, you could enjoy soba noodles in the lobby and even order a sake set to chill with friends. I even asked the front desk if I could bring my own snacks to enjoy with the free drinks. It was a very comfortable space. If you're staying for a day or...
The bathtub has a hydro-massage function, which is very nice. The hotel offers complimentary pasta dishes in the evenings.
If it had an onsen it would be the perfect hotel.
I had a very comfortable stay.
The service from the front desk was also very good.
It's an elegant and well-designed accommodation. Omi Market, Kanazawa Castle Park, and Kenrokuen Garden are all within walking distance. However, it takes four bus stops from Kanazawa Station to get to the hotel, so I took a taxi instead because I had luggage. The fare was about 1000 yen. The hotel offers both Japanese and Western-style breakfast sets, both of which are delicious.

It's very conveniently located near the station. It's clean, but a little old and dark. It has a nice retro feel. The bathtub in the room is currently out of service. There's a shared bath that can be reserved. There's a koto and piano in the lobby, creating a nice atmosphere. There's free origami paper on the bookshelf, which is fun. Newspapers are also available. The counter seems unmanned most of...
The room was small but very clean, and the location was excellent!
Great location from the station.
It's cheap to stay without meals, so it's good to be close to the station.
This hotel is very close to Kanazawa Station, a 3-5 minute walk. I booked a single room and arrived at the hotel around 10:00 in the morning. The receptionist was an elderly lady who only spoke Japanese but was very polite. She probably saw that I arrived early, so she immediately gave me a room and said I could check in. I went upstairs and opened the door to find that I had been given a triple room...

Kanazawa, 7-12 Nakabashimachi (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
The room was quite small, and the bathroom had a very high step, which felt a bit dangerous getting in and out of. The front desk staff didn't speak English. It's a 5-minute walk to the subway. The surrounding area is very lively, with large shopping malls, supermarkets, and restaurants.
really enjoyed staying there for a cheaper price 🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Room was clean but there were stains over the carpet on the corridor.
Window in the room could not be opened.
Location is 10-12 minute walk from the JR station. Nearby shops are limited.
Overall worth the price
Good budget hotel of livemax group, 10 minute walking to kanazawa station
I have chose this hotel chain some times when having trips
Cleaness, location and price are ok
Everything was good, the room was very clean, and it's super close to Kanazawa Station—only a 7-minute walk from the West Exit. The only thing I wish they could improve is that they don't allow luggage storage after check-out. This is the first hotel I've encountered with such a policy.

First, Kanazawa is AMAZING and wonderful and beautiful, and we loved it more than any other city on our two-week visit to Japan. Part of the reason we loved it so much is the wonderful hospitality we enjoyed at the Kaname Inn. Upon check-in, my boyfriend realized he left his phone in the taxi cab. Within minutes, the reservation clerk (Haruka) had called the taxi company and arranged to meet the...
After an exhausting trip around the Tokyo to Nagano to Kanazawa, I was soooo ready for a nice but affordable place to rest my head. So glad I found this place on a friend's recommendation. The whole construction is calming with lots of wood accents, a totally groovy music bar (a lot of jazz), and really nice clean and quiet rooms. I got the chance to meet the owner so said building this little boutique...
Brilliant reception took time to advise the local landmarks and shortcuts nearby. Very soulful bar playing cool jazz to soul music. Hotel in a good location. Quiet and clean but very close to attractions and amenities.
New looking facility in a cool shopping street. Audio lounge downstairs was awesome, staff spoke English far better than expected. Very nice stay.
Great little boutique hotel located at a walking distance to pretty much everything in the beautiful city of Kanazawa. The room was clean and great value, and the downstairs music bar was a great place to chill out after a day walking around the city.
The hotel is located inside a shopping alley. As such, it is quiet at night which we like. The staff at the counter is welcoming and friendly. What I like most is the bar right below the hotel. It is a very special bar that the DJ plays nice music with old school disc. The sound is good as the speakers are good. You may consider staying here. Highly recommended.

It’s a nice hotel in a nice location right by the fish market. Was disappointed that there was no laundry they can provide tho. The breakfast was good and staff lovely
The hospitality was good and the room was clean
Great location
Bit pricey
Easy parking across the road
Not many restaurant choices nearby though
The hotel is not big, but it is good enough, right? The breakfast is simple.
An impeccable hotel, excellent in every aspect.
However, the hotel name sign was on Kanazawa papyrus, so we braved the heavy snow and wandered at the door for a long time and couldn't find it. We didn't know where the Kanazawa Ethnographic Hotel came from on Ctrip. . .

Simply beautiful Japanese ryokan, with amazing service and food.
Traditional stay in beautiful room & hotel. As non Japanese speakers the staff tried really hard with Google translate to communicate with us which was appreciated. The only minor complaint was the hard Japanese style pillow which seemed to be full of rice or some kind of grain??? We tried to embrace...
So incredible. The whole stay is an authentic experience that I enjoyed so much. The rooms are simple, yet felt so fun to be in an adventure. The food is authentic Japanese and our group loved trying flavors and items we’d never imagined trying before.

This is a beautiful ryokan and the room itself was great. Peaceful, traditional, with a beautiful well-kept garden. Excellent location, quality hotel. Great, savory breakfast. The staff was the highlight of our stay. Very attentive and helpful.
It was alright. I booked it for someone else. The hotel was quite nice, and the breakfast was okay. An American checked in, and maybe there wasn't a smooth communication with me, so they just gave a good review without providing a detailed experience or description.
The hotel is basic. Clean but the beds and pillows are hard so to me was uncomfortable. The man at the front is the rudest Japanese person I have encountered in my three weeks here. He talked to us as if we were children. Great location, the restaurant crew is very nice, but if you want to eat breakfast there, you have to let them know the night before. I won’t be coming back to this hotel.
I would stay here again

I stayed for one night with breakfast included. The room was clean and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious and I even had seconds, which was unusual for me.
It was a little far from the station, but it was easy to get to by bus. There were also many restaurants nearby that were open late at night, which was helpful for me as I arrived late at night on a business trip.
Although it's far from Kanazawa Station, it's close to Korinbo and within walking distance of the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kenrokuen Garden, and Kanazawa Castle Park. However, the building is old, and while there's a large public bath, it's on a rotating schedule, with men and women only. The building is old, and the smell when you enter the room bothered me. The water in the bathroom didn't drain well, making it difficult to use.

The hotel is quite old, and its hot springs are a major feature; the water quality is excellent and very comfortable. The food is average (both breakfast and dinner are like that), similar to most Japanese hotels, so don't expect much.
The food is exquisite. The best Ryokan breakfast and dinner we've had. The dining setting stunning, which is facing the Noh Theatre! Should time our next visit when there is a performance. Even without a performance this time, tasting the duck broth, while watching the fish grill against a snowing background is still very enjoyable. Feel so grateful throughout the meals.

Great hot spring, great food and awesome service!
The food was incredible and the staff super nice. The hot springs made the trip all worthwhile. The highlight of my vacation.
This place is huge, I felt like if I was in Spirited Away. The hotel and rooms are spacious. The service is very helpful and dedicated. I think the onsen is ferruginous as the water is reddish.
I'm not a fan of fish and seaweed but I could tell the food was fresh and good quality. I liked the desserts.
This place was wonderful. It was a very immersion experience with exceptionally diligent staff. We loved our stay. There were significant language barriers, but google translate helped a lot. The meals are VERY traditional, so if you are not prepared to be adventurous (raw whole baby squid, natto, a lot of sashimi, and boba-sized fish eggs) I would recommend not purchasing the meals, as it is rude...

Very close to tourist attractions eg garden / castle, I guess 15min walk from train station, Japanese breakfast was really good there, they also provide a traditional Japanese dinner - you need to pre book this in I think 5 days in advance? Extremely kind and attentive staff are what account for a higher rating than I would have otherwise given. However, having stayed the previous two nights in other ryokans, by comparison the room was quite small and though clean, a bit dingy and outdated.
