HOTEL ROCCO - Adults Only in Nara

Surprisingly good! Our first experience with a love hotel in Japan – and we're thrilled!

Hotel Rocco – Adults Only in Nara is definitely not your average hotel. It was our first stay in a so-called "love hotel," and to be honest, we were skeptical at first. But after just one night, it was clear – the whole package was perfect!

Booking through Hotels.com was completely straightforward. The reception was friendly, and the staff member spoke a little English – enough to explain all the important information clearly. A particularly important point: When you enter the room, it locks from the outside. To leave, you have to contact reception by pressing #9. Anyone who wants to leave or re-enter later has to register there each time. Tip: Be sure to take everything (e.g., suitcases, snacks, drinks) into the room before the door locks.

The room itself was a real surprise: very spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with many amenities. A whirlpool with its own TV, a large, modern shower, another TV by the bed, a complimentary karaoke machine, plenty of DVDs, various "toys" (some free, some for purchase), and even a small selection of high-quality toiletries (hand and face cream, shaving foam, toothbrushes, and even hairbrushes). Hardly any traditional hotel in this price range offers this level of amenities.

The ambiance is clearly geared towards couples – with playful extras that you can use, but don't have to. Everything is tastefully done and very discreet. Anyone simply looking for a quiet, comfortable room with a whirlpool and plenty of space will also find it here.

We never thought a "hourly hotel" would surprise us so pleasantly – but yes: we've become a bit of a fan.

I had some trouble finding the room number when parking my car, but the room was clean and very nice.

The hotel is nice, very spacious, you can do karaoke in the room, the service is friendly.
