Excellent location—right next to Nara Station, making it very convenient to take the bus to Tōdai-ji and Nara Park. The hotel room was very clean and well-equipped, with a bathtub, TV, refrigerator, and everything you might need. The reception staff were also very friendly and helpful. Definitely my top choice for my next trip to Nara!

Hotel Halftime

The front staff are smiling and polite! The room smelled of cigarettes and the interior was old, but the amenities and towels were clean and nice. Above all, the location was convenient as there were convenience stores and restaurants nearby.

We had a guest from China stay here. Although our plan did not include breakfast, we were able to easily get it done at the convenience store across the street from the hotel. There are many restaurants near the hotel, so it was very nice. Also, I often had meetings at the hotel front desk, and everyone at the hotel was polite and made me feel very comfortable.

A wonderful place! Quiet, peaceful, close to everything! Very pleased! The room is spacious enough for one or even two guests.

The surrounding environment is very nice, and it's conveniently located near a park.

This is my second time at this hotel. Everything is more than comfortable, absolutely everything is taken care of. You can also leave your luggage on the first floor before check-in. There's no staff, but I think it's safe. The room is very clean, every detail is thought of, and it's a comfortable stay.

It was a very comfortable stay, and the room was quite large. The location was convenient.

The room was not as clean as we expected, and there was no room service for cleaning. Additionally, there is no on-site laundry room; the nearest one is a 15-minute walk away.

The room, including the balcony, the cleanness, and the view, the location, andthe friendliness and professionalism of staff were all beyond expectation.

Everything about this hotel was good. Ameneties, customer service, cleanliness, location. Really an amazing hotel, had a wonderful stay here. Would come back again but unfortunately its closing down. Wish all the best, thanks for the hospitality.

Very friendly staff and can speak different languages since it's a tourist center. Walking distance within 10mins from stations and right next to a pond. You can see a couple of deers from the window. A convenient store right at B1 which comes in handy - tho it's not 24hrs. There are many activities you can join during daytime. Recommended.

Fantastic room, stone throw away from the park and the shopping/food streets, friendly staff, deer visible from your window and you can cook in the shared kitchen when needed. 11/10

Considering what we paid for 3 people to stay a night before moving on from Nara, this accommodation was great. Had a public bath and even a communal kitchen. Very user friendly. Too bad the convenience store connected to it was closed during our stay, overall a great stay for the price.

It was pretty good overall, but some rooms had an old, musty smell, probably due to their age. The deluxe Japanese-style room was especially great. However, not being able to control the ventilation was a bit annoying. For the price, the room size was quite generous. Next time, I'd like to stay two consecutive days; checking out after just one night this time was really inconvenient.

HOTEL ESSOR - Adult Only

I use it for adult entertainment purposes. It's called ESSOR. It's a simple, retro hotel, but the bathroom was large and clean. There are no free drinks. There are paid menu items (food and drinks). I thought the room rates were very reasonable.

Near the Nara ruins, in room sauna and jacuzzi a plus

You can get a reasonably priced and reasonably priced room with very good quality!

Very nice. I really enjoyed it.

The location is a bit inconvenient, and the rooms are somewhat old. However, the room facilities and service are excellent, there is a sauna, and the price is relatively cheap.

Hotel Mimatsu

I used it on my trip to Nara. It was an inn that had everything I wanted, within walking distance to sightseeing spots, with a parking lot, a twin Western-style room, and a large communal bath. It's more of a ryokan than a business hotel. There was a feeling of aging, but I thought that the cost performance was good. The staff were also pleasant and polite. In addition, we want to use if there is opportunity

Excellent service, delicious food and spacious rooms that can be enjoyed by kids and adults.

Amazing Bed and Breakfast experience for those traveling through Nara. Basic Japanese required to stay

Yuzan Guesthouse Annex Hostel

The room is clean, the owner is friendly and speaks English. It’s also close to both JR Nara and Kintetsu Nara station. Also deer park isn’t far from here which is really nice

It was not so clean and the service was not very welcoming compared to other structures, especially on the phone. They pre charged and then you have to pay cash. Just two pictures from the bathroom, but many things showed lack of regards

The location is near both JR nara and kintestu station, it's also 800m far from nara park and naramachi main area. However, it's not on the main street so it's quite dark and silent at night. Room and services are good for solo travelers. I stayed in female dorm, everything is ok. However, you may be awakened at midnight if others go out or do st else. That's so disturbing 🤨

It's a traditional Japanese hostel quite convenience

Very clean. Staff speak both English and Japanese and are very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse is within walking distance of both Nara Station about 10 minutes and Nara Park about 10 minutes but in the other direction. Would definitely recommend a stay.

A very homey and locally distinctive youth hostel with excellent service and clean rooms. The location is also convenient—just a five-minute walk to the nearest subway station. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I visit Nara.

It is an excellent location within walking distance from Geku, a Komeda's Coffee, and a 7-11. The price we got was very good (around 4000+ a night per person), especially for Ise. Parking was provided. The service was superb and attention was paid to numerous small things. Weather for the next day was updated in the common room. There were guidebook provided on all nearby sights, food, and bathhouses...

We stayed for 2 nights at this guesthouse. It was the perfect space to crash after spending the day in Kyoto and Nara. It is walkable to the nearest train station. Our room was small but just what we needed. The shared space was also very helpful. We loved staying in a place that was inexpensive and easy to book, but one that did not feel like a stale hotel room. The owner, on site during normal opening...

Lovely stay. We felt truly at home. The host is a very friendly lady. There is a cozy community area with a small but well equipped kitchen. Since we are out early in the mornings for long walks and sightseeing and eat out for lunch we love to stay in in the evenings (especially in the colder weather now) and do some cooking - that was possible here. We fully enjoyed our stay. Super clean everywhere...

Had an amazing stay there for one night. It wasn’t too small, and it was super comfy and cozy. Love the bed and pillow! Will definitely come back here again

We selected the Kamunabi Guesthouse because we wanted to stay in a more traditional Japanese guesthouse. Our room was very spacious and immaculate, with tatami mats and futons, which we expected and with which we were happy. As the walls between rooms are merely screens, any noise can be heard across rooms. We knew we would share a bathroom (toilet), which was cumbersome to get to and quite a few...

Very good, the environment is very good, I like it very much, it is very close to Nara Park, and the family members who like it are bold

The quilts in the room are OK, but it would be very uncomfortable if someone snores in a 6-person room. The beds are not enclosed and are very similar to dormitories in China. There is a washing machine at 220 yen per time, but no dryer. The toilet is just average, and you have to wear hotel shoes when going in and out, which are really not that good. Towels and toothbrushes must be bought separately...

It was my first time to experience a youth hostel. The beds were bunk beds. I was lucky to be assigned to the upper bunk. After all, if I wanted to get out of bed, it would affect the passengers in the lower bunk. The hotel staff are quite friendly. Excluding the queues for bathing and the fact that it is quite far from JR Nara, the hotel is pretty good. After all, it is a youth hostel. Those who need...

This traditional inn is well located to train and bus stations. We easily walked to and from the different stations we used. The innkeeper is very thoughtful and has maps to many of the areas you might want to visit. It was very hot during our visit to Japan and she greeted us with cool towels and lemon water after we were out for a few hours.

For those looking for a traditional Western hostel / hotel - this is not it. This is a ryokan, and yes you can find better facilities and prices in other places. What this offers is a very homey feel of the more traditional Japanese home with some modern convenience like wifi, air-conditioning, hot shower, fridge, etc. The host is an old lady and very accommodating to reasonable requests.

Very nice traditional ryōkan in the centre of Nara, a few rooms, breakfast in the hall with view on the small garden owner was nice and friendly.

Great place to stay in Nara. Especially if you want to experience what it's like to stay in a true Japanese household. The ryokan owner is the sweetest little old Japanese lady who will bend over backwards to help in any way possible. I liken it to staying at your grandmother's house.
