Staying at Ishicho was a great experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and the room and onsen were very nice! I would definitely recommend staying here.

Me and a friend stayed for two nights as we wanted to explore areas of the Kansai region. It was such a nice experience! We didn’t end up trying the public baths, so I can’t comment on that, but the room itself and the futons were great ^^
When I think walkable, it may be different to someone else’s walkable, but transport (bus) is okay to get around— it is pretty busy though so take at your own caution if you have a large suitcase. The area is great! We wish we had more time but from what we walked and visited, it was nice. There’s a gachapon place nearby and multiple drug stores and places to eat.
Overall, great experience! And for the price, definitely worth it.

Large room in friendly ryokan.
Lovely hotel in good location very close to river, imperial palace and markets. Good access to subway. Room was clean and large. Toilet a bit musty in smell.

The room is old, it should be an old hotel, but it has a Showa style, the service is pretty good, breakfast and dinner are good, dinner is a bit expensive

This is a permanent camp. Kindness, cheapness, delicious food. Mr. Nakai, the hostess and the management are all kind. The Log Town area is worth a look.

Purchased from the kitchen on October 20, 2020. Thank you for eating very tasty vegetables, and it was a little disappointing that the boy saw me naked. However, the hostess had a rude face and immediately took me to the back, so it was much appreciated. Next time I will come with my family. I'll come back after I become a moth We count 3 clients helped with this

Very pleasant surprise. A meaningful Japanese-style hotel, it is the former residence of Kido Takayoshi. (Kido Takayoshi was an active samurai and politician from the end of the shogunate to the beginning of the Meiji era. He promoted the return of feudal lordships, abolished feudal lords and established prefectures. He was known as the former residence of Takayoshi Kido together with Takamori Saigo and Toshimichi Okubo. As the "Three Heroes of the Meiji Restoration".)
Full marks for everything. I would recommend this hotel to my friends who are visiting Japan. Recommended to book Japanese breakfast. Next time I go to Kyoto, I will also book Ishicho Shokikuen. Everything in Japan is so beautiful💕💕💕
