Hotel Shima Spain Mura, Shima1 / 13
8.6
Kansai region, Shima, 952-4 Sakazaki, Isobe-cho 🧭 Map
Okay, as someone who actually lives in Spain since about three years now (my nationality is Dutch) this was a very interesting and hilarious experience. The park kind of does a really cliche exaggerated version of what Japanese people probably think Spain is like. With flamenco dancers on the street, a bullfight in every town and men dressed in traditional Spanish outfits yelling "olé" all day. Obviously...
Low key, calmer and much better value for money vs Disneyland. Definitely a great place to visit and the kids totally enjoyed it. Less crowded also compared to many places in Japan.
I definitely had fun at this park. It is a mellow and quieter version of Disneyland. I'd rather visit this theme park as it was not so crowded, rides are thrilling, and my favorite, is that there is no queue. You can absolutely take as many rides as you want.
Spain Mura is a hidden gem with some of most enjoyable roller coasters! The best part about this place is that it’s not well known. It seems like the local population know of it but it’s not really know to tourists. While I was here, I explored the whole park in around an hour then went on all of the rides. Each ride had a wait time of approximately 2 minutes (just waiting for the last group to finish...
This is my second visit, and I'm still satisfied. Except for the convenience store being very far away and the dinner reservations being fully booked... I had a quick dinner beforehand, so there were no issues. There was beer in the vending machine, though. I think it's a great choice for a theme park visit. I highly recommend it.
After having fun at Parque Espana, you can refresh yourself in the Sunflower Baths.

Value for money Near the station
Very nice hotel. Great amenities
I asked the hotel for a taxi to pick me up, but they refused, probably because they didn't have enough. I was in a pinch, but the hotel shuttle bus took me to the station, which was a relief. The pillow was too high, which caused discomfort for my neck. I was worried about the foul smell in the public bath.
I stayed here for one night during a trip to Ise-Shima. Since I was traveling by train, I used the free shuttle service to Kintetsu Ugata Station. The departure was on time and the service was very courteous. [Good Points] ① Large public bath (open until midnight, morning bath available from 5am. Free popsicles after bathing, choose from four flavors) ② Ample amenities (POLA lotion, milky lotion,...
Thank you for accommodating us at such short notice! I also asked for frozen food, which I felt was a bit unfair, but you handled the situation with kindness and I was able to stay comfortably. I would like to stay here again if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.
The shuttle service between Ugata Station and the hotel was very helpful. I didn't use it this time, but I think it would be convenient to have it transported to and from Shima Spain Village. The large public bath was also very comfortable! I was happy that they offered free ice cream after the bath. I also liked the free coffee.

nice house, complete utilities, and a great environment
I was very satisfied with my stay, but there were some areas where safety precautions were needed if you have small children. The gap between the fence around the entrance was wide and there was a risk of children falling in, and the bathtub was a freestanding type made overseas, so it was quite high and caution was needed.
It was a lovely place and I felt comfortable staying there. I'd like to use it again if I have the opportunity. It was also nice that there was a dog run.
Overall rating is almost perfect. There is a single road in the land surrounded by mountains, and when you pass through it, you will see a stylish cottage-type lobby. After parking the car and checking in, you will drive your car to the front of the room. The first road is only wide enough for one car, so we recommend driving with extreme caution! The room is very spacious and extremely clean. There...
We stayed here without meals. The log house in the forest had a nice atmosphere, and the inside was very clean, spacious, and lovely. The bed was also spacious and we were able to sleep comfortably. It was the first time for my child to wash in the bathtub and only have a shower, so he was surprised, but I think it was a good experience.
Welcoming and friendly hotel staff, we enjoyed a special sakura event night at the resort : ) The log house is comfortable and good enuf for our family! Would love to visit again next time!

My younger brother's junior colleague recommended this inn to us, so we visited on a family trip. Everyone in the family was thrilled! They upgraded our room because they had availability, so thank you very much! The staff were all very nice. 😊 My wife was impressed with the starry sky from the open-air bath at night. As everyone has said, the food was delicious and filling, and we were very satisfied...
This hotel has already seen many years, but it's built in a spectacular location. You can literally feel the sea in your room because the sound of the waves is constantly audible, and the view of the sea is amazing. The room was (admitting we booked the cheapest category) an old-style Japanese room and was a bit small. The smell was a bit annoying because we could occasionally smell the kitchen, and...
Funny story. We pulled up to this place super excited to enjoy the beach the following day. We planned the trip months in advance. When we woke up the next day all the beaches were closed due to the recent and serious tsunami warning. We spent the day enjoying the very quiet little townsite and mostly lounging at the pool, which though humble, has a gorgeous view of the bay. The view from the room...
The food was delicious and amazing. The foreign staff were friendly and attentive. The ocean view was amazing.
Hot spring type bathroom on the 5th floor is good. Ocean view from room is great. We enjoyed dinner at a Izakara style restaurant which is 10 minites walki distance from the facility.
It's an old but nice place. The facilities are old, but the rooms with ocean views and the open-air bath, which is on a rotating basis, are great. There's nothing particularly noteworthy to see around the inn, but I enjoyed strolling along the seaside promenade, looking out at the ocean from my room, and soaking in the open-air bath. I had a very peaceful time. It was a shame I couldn't book a meal...

The employees were excellent and very friendly. The food tasted great. Couldn’t beat the service.
Service is nice and breakfast is good and delicious! Staff is very helpful and onsen is good too
It seemed like the front desk was being run by just one person, but I was grateful that they were flexible in addressing discrepancies between what was stated on the website and what was actually happening.
Since I checked in at night, the road just before the hotel was a little scary, but when I walked along it in the daylight the next morning, it wasn't scary at all. The large public bath was located right after getting off the elevator, so it was easy to get to. This time I only stayed overnight, but next time I would like to stay with meals included.
A hidden hotel at the tip of Shima Meals are Chinese food
I stayed on December 28, 3rd year of Reiwa. At the end of the year, I decided where to stay in Mie prefecture based on the reputation that creative Chinese food is delicious by searching and word-of-mouth. Since it was renewed, the inside of the building has a new feel, and the dining area has a nice atmosphere, mainly in orange color. The dinner dishes are course-like and authentic. First of all,...

The drinks and food in the lounge were great, but above all, the service was wonderful, and I had a very enjoyable time.
The room was clean and nice. The large public bath was also nice and spacious, but the sauna felt a bit small. The meals were satisfying with local specialty dishes, but there wasn't much fruit and the dessert cake was a little disappointing. It was nice that there was a lounge near the public bath. We were a family of six (five adults and one child), and we had a great time with karaoke and table...
The front desk staff were very courteous. The food was a buffet, and it was really good.
The junior suite had a great view.
We stayed here for our child's birthday, but there was nothing special to celebrate. We also mentioned this in the request list. The room was spacious, but the view from the window was a rundown inn, which was disappointing. The breakfast was also average. The people in the lobby seemed to be looking down the whole time. The hot springs were nice, and the open-air bath was great. We had 30 minutes...
I went there with four golf friends. It's cheap so it can't be helped, but the building is undeniably old. There was a sauna attached to the large bath, but it could only fit about two people. The buffet dining area was on a rotation system, but it was very crowded. Of course, the ingredients were not expensive, but I think it was enough for a fun time with friends. There was a wide variety of alcoholic...

I had a good stay in this place. The staff were very friendly, which is very different from other places I stayed in Japan as the Japanese are usually very shy. The view was wonderful. Most importantly, the place was quiet and private. If you are looking for a place to recharge like me, this is a good choice. I am very satisfied with the food considering the price. The sashimi is very fresh.
This hotel is a hidden gem. The food served was definitely value for money and the staff were nice. We would definitely reccomend order both the dinner and breakfast kaiseki as part of the stay in this hotel. In terms of facilities, the hotel is a typical ryokan and the main facility would be the onsens (which rotates day to day). For tourists like us this hotel is a plus since their foreign staff...
I stayed here with seven of my high school classmates to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel offered complimentary red wine and lent us a red chanchanko set for photos. Thanks to them, we had a very enjoyable dinner. The staff were very kind, and the bath was great.
I didn't drive, and the hotel is located on a slope, making the walk from the station to the hotel tiring. It's an old-fashioned hotel with a spacious interior and a souvenir shop on the first floor. The staff were polite and the experience was very good. The price was 3,000 per night on a weekend, excluding breakfast.
The in-room dining was excellent. The food was delicious and the portions were just right. The view was amazing.
The hotel rooms are very quiet and have great views.

The price is cheap, the hygiene is good, and the comfort is better than expected. The disadvantage is that the location is too remote. There is only a convenience store near Kashikojima Kintetsu Station, and it closes at 6 pm, so it is a bit inconvenient.
This was a really nice room in a really nice hotel. I went during a slow time of year so I guess I got a pretty good rate. I got the large sea view room and the views were awesome. If I ever decide to visit the island again I'll be staying at this hotel again.
Location is good, pretty close to JR station, room itself is small and aged, especially the bathroom
Wonderful experience. We had an amazing time. Only nitpick would be that I wish there were more outlets in the room for charging. 6 people in a room with two outlets. The futon were clean and the pillows very nice. The food was great both at dinner and breakfast. I would recommend the upgraded 🍽️ options. We had a standard and a nicer set and the money was well spent for the upgrade.
The view from the window was beautiful. The room was also clean and I was able to relax. The surrounding shops close in the evening, but the hotel kindly provided a car to take us to a recommended restaurant. This was very helpful given the limited number of trains running. I'd like to stay here again!
The rooms and the verandas are very spacious and the views are great. I was reminded of the tourist inn style of the past.

A while ago, we visited here on the second night of our Ise-Shima trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. My wife had planned the entire trip. We had stayed overnight in Ise the night before, and on this day we visited the Outer Shrine in the morning and had a relaxing break at Okage Yokocho. After filling our stomachs, we took the Kintetsu Line to Ugata. We boarded the shuttle bus to the...
We visited as a couple. While the island has a rich history, it's currently very peaceful and you can stroll around the beach and other areas to yourself. The boat ride took about three minutes from the dock on the opposite shore, docked at the pier in front of the hotel, and checked in. It reminded me of Porco Rosso. Our room had an open-air hot spring, and it was well-maintained. Dinner was also...
An inn where the only means of transportation is by boat. Travel by ferry. A luxurious hot spring ♨️ inn. Travel by ferry that can be called whenever you like. There are no restaurants for lunch on the island. The spiny lobster is delicious!
This trip was a family trip with my family of four. I have been to Mie Prefecture several times in the past, but I always stayed in Toba or Osatsu, so this was the first time I went all the way to Shima. The inn I chose for this trip was "Haifu", a hotel on the remote island of Wataranoshima, where all rooms have an ocean view open-air bath. Actually, this "Haifu" was a hotel that I had been very interested...

The view from our room was amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious! ✨ The all-inclusive plan included all-you-can-eat pizza, zenzai, alcohol, soft drinks, and Ise udon, all of which was delicious! Above all, the hospitality of each and every staff member was fantastic, and it was clear they wanted us to have a good time. 😊 Thank you so much! ✨ I'll definitely be back! ️
We visited in February. We were a couple. First of all, the front desk staff were extremely helpful, even over the phone. They were attentive to the small details and brimmed with hospitality. The welcome drinks included beer and highballs, so we were treated to everything we could ask for. Dinner was also impeccable. They had a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, from sake to shochu, which we enjoyed...
It's all-inclusive, so it's easy! There's a wide selection of alcohol, but the snacks are too limited! Everyone was sitting on the sofas in the lobby, but there clearly weren't enough seats, so we had to drink standing up or in our rooms, and they kept refilling when the drinks ran out. I didn't have high expectations for either dinner or breakfast, but even so, I was a little disappointed. I would...
We stayed with three generations. The room was spacious and had a great view. It was well-cleaned and we were very satisfied. The hot spring was average, but the open-air bath could have been a little bigger. The indoor and outdoor baths were small considering the number of rooms. The pizza was absolutely delicious! We also enjoyed the all-you-can-drink alcohol. Breakfast was also satisfying! However...
We went to Ise Shima on a family trip. Before dinner, we went to the large public bath and found a jacuzzi installed on the balcony. The view of the ocean was beautiful and the jacuzzi was just the right temperature, which was great. My son, who is in middle school, had a great time. We were also given a welcome drink and freshly baked pizza, which made us feel very happy. For dinner, we enjoyed local...
While I was washing my body and hair in the wash area of the public bath, drops of water fell repeatedly from the ceiling onto my body, which made me feel uncomfortable. I stayed in a Japanese-style room for three people. As long as you pay attention to the shower and door in the large communal bath, the overall quality is high and there are no problems. I wonder what people who give low ratings are looking for? I think it's a pretty good inn.
This hotel is conveniently located right next to Ugata Station. It's cheaper than hostels with shared bathrooms and toilets, and includes a unit bath. The bathtub is a little small, though. When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a welcome drink. Wow! They apparently serve alcohol, so we had some sake. There's a dining area in a corner of the gift shop on the first floor, where you can relax...
It was conveniently located near Ugata Station. It was only about 5,000 yen for two people during the Christmas season, so considering the price, I'd rate it 5 stars! The hotel staff were very kind, and although the lack of an elevator may be inconvenient for some people, they helped me carry my luggage. The Western-style twin room was spacious and I slept comfortably. The heating worked well, so I...
I was prepared before entering this place as I saw many awful reviews. Well, not like that horrible as mentioned. I mean it’s true: no elevator, filthy reception desk, cluttered everywhere. As for me, as long as they provide a clean place to sleep, hot water for a shower, and a great price, there’s nothing to complain about.
I'm sorry, it's not possible for me. Is it good as a rider house? is.
(Used in January 2023) I was hesitant because it was a very cheap business hotel (3000 yen) and the reviews were pretty good, but let's try it! It's the first time I've used it. I got a discount on booking.com. The first-come-first-served free parking lot is behind the building on the left. It's in the Tsuki-Goku just after entering from the traffic light. What a little gem! We really enjoyed our stay here. The island has its own weird, nefarious history. But if anything that adds to its mystery…and possibly lack of guests. The hotel was nearly empty, which meant we had almost exclusive use of the onsen. The food was tasty Japanese fare - westerners not familiar with it will almost certainly struggle, and there are no restaurants or convenience stores...
Celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary, we stayed at Shima Kanko Hotel The Bay Suite the night before and enjoyed some black abalone. On our way to our next accommodation, Auberge Yusura, we, being hot spring lovers, enjoyed the open-air garden bath, "Kazemachi no Yu," at Fukujuso.♨ To get there, you have to take a 3-minute boat ride... I realized that this is where "Haifu," the awful accommodation...
When visiting Ise-san, I used this hot spring inn as it was relatively close. It is located on a small island off the coast of a ria coast, and if you wish to stay overnight, you will enter from the opposite shore by a special boat. The boat ride only takes about 3 minutes, but it's quite atmospheric. Because the hot springs are located along the coast, they are chloride springs with a high salt concentration...
Fresh seafood is delicious. There will be more than you can eat. It has a good flavor overall. The open-air bath on the first floor is popular, but the indoor bath on the sixth floor has fewer customers. The bathtub on the 6th floor hasn't been cleaned enough and is full of mold. Even though it wasn't even the day before a holiday, there were quite a few customers. There are many group tourists, and...
The hotel is on Tokanojima Island. You drive to the dock parking lot and then carry your luggage on the boat. It was raining heavily during check-in, which was inconvenient, but the hotel's hot springs and food quality are good.
