Where to stay with pets in Shirahama

The price wasn't too outrageous, so I quickly booked a package that included dinner and breakfast (one night, two meals). Overall, it offered decent value for money. We arrived in Shirahama quite late

The main picture is misleading! I couldn't find the hotel after getting off the train. The first attached picture is what it actually looks like! Exit Tottori Station North Exit, and it's diagonally opposite on your left

For three people, two nights for under 2000 RMB, I think it's a great deal. The location is truly excellent! It's right opposite the train station, with many shops and a huge 7-Eleven

I figured it might be due to Halloween. The Shirahama Marriott is one of the few international chain hotels in Wakayama, located right next to the famous Shirarahama Beach

Look for a large '由' character on the roof; the tall building to its left is the hotel. The front desk was decent, and simple English communication was possible

Honestly, I booked this hotel specifically for the rooftop view, and the white sand beach of Shirahama definitely didn't disappoint! Plus, the hotel rooms are quite spacious, which is a rarity in Japan, making for a really great stay!

I have completed a self-driving tour in Japan with the Sanbaibing Hotel. The hotel I chose today is a hot spring resort hotel with dinner and breakfast. The room is a sea view room with a nice view and a large room

The only downside is that it's located on a hillside, making it a little inconvenient to get in and out, and the bed is too hard

There are almost no restaurants around the hotel, so it is best to book dinner and breakfast at the hotel. The breakfast is also very rich. When traveling in Japan, my favorite thing is the hotel breakfast

The ingredients are really fresh and delicious. The hotel also has a large bath for hot spring bathing, especially the open-air hot spring. If it snows in winter, it is very artistic

Although the hotel is quite old, it is still clean and tidy. The buffet food in the evening is of good variety, taste and ingredients

At last, my case wasn’t a communication problem because the staff who talked to us wasn’t a Japanese and was a native English speaker

This is an excellent hotel with a unique mixed sex onsen facing the ocean with sunset view in addition to free private onsens as well as public sex-separated onsens! The room view overlooks the sea as well as Engetsu Island

The sightseeing points are also within 5-10 mins driving distance from the hotel. We expected to watch the sunset at the balcony, while on that day the weather was a bit cloudy so we didn't take a nice photo here

This is a very typical Japanese hotel with traditional Japanese service. The four hot spring baths are perfect for anyone who enjoys soaking. The rooms are good and the facilities are complete

This hotel is perfect for a vacation! The service is excellent, and the environment is lovely. They offer complimentary coffee, drinks, and even alcohol. The hot springs are also very clean

We later stayed at Taoya in Nachikatsuura, and Shirahama-so definitely offers superior value for money. The location is also excellent, with the beach right outside the lobby

The location is fantastic! The bus stop is literally a minute away, and Shirarahama Beach is right outside. There's even a free foot bath on the way to Engetsu Island

The place was a bit old but clean and had good anti-infective measures so I could use it with confidence. The staff was kind and polite. The sashimi and grilled meat were really delicious for a buffet dinner

Actually, It was provide morning buffet breakfast and dinner for guest, but the food is not fresh and the taste is only acceptable. the room can enjoy of great view when they face to the ocean

The room was big and the facilities were substantial. Free WiFi is available and I think the speed is fast enough to use for web browsing

Got the highest floor with a ocean view, tatami room. Pretty far out from the station but reachable with city bus. It’s near the cliffs attraction and walkable to the ocean hot spring

Arrived here and met a guy called Chishiya, girl Kuina and a couple Arisu and Usagi. We partied and then bad boiz with guns began to fight. Then a game 10 of hearts started and we almost died! Overall, 10/10

It’s quite an imposing place at the beginning. In photos, the hotel seems grand and a feeling of antiqueness to it. Location is out of the tourist-heavy beach but very quiet and adequately well maintained

it was FANTASTIC!!! i was at the pool area then i realised a game had started. 10 of hearts? anyways i rushed to the main building and everyone was panicking

It was also convenient as a base for sightseeing in Wakayama, and since we came by rental car, we went to see "Sandanbeki" the next day (about 30 minutes by car), and we were very impressed by the spectacular sea and magnificent natural scenery! I recommend it as a base for golfing and sightseeing in Shirahama!

It was nice that there was a golf course on-site, and on the first day, my husband and I enjoyed playing golf together. The large bath was also a hot spring, and there was an open-air bath, which was great

The three scenic spots of Shirahama are nearby, only about a 15-minute walk. There are also delicious ramen, set meals, bread, etc. Most importantly, the food is affordable and delicious! 😃😃😃

The hotel has some history, but is reasonably well-maintained. Located on a slope, it's recommended to drive there, as parking is free

Cleanliness: The rooms are clean and the wet and dry areas are separated, making it very convenient. Environment: Excellent! 👍 You can see the sea view every day, which is very pleasant

The rooms are large; I chose the Japanese-style room with two beds, a Japanese-style living room, and a terrace with panoramic views of the beach and distant views of Engetsu Island

I don't usually write reviews, but I absolutely loved this hotel! Transportation is great; a bus ride from Shirahama Station to Shin-Yuzaki Station takes about 20 minutes

This is a must place to visit/stay when you are around Osaka

Overall it's definitely worth to spend a night here. However, location is quite far away from the city, so you are better to buy all you need in the supermarket before check in

2 hr drive from Osaka but definitely worth the trip! Superb staff and management! Super clean and comfortable in every sense! Includes private dining for both breakfast and dinner

Before I went, I was worried because there were no photos, Both Japanese and Nepalese are serving customers properly, and the food and guest room open-air baths are all 100 points

The room we chose was fantastic! It had a private tub, so we could enjoy a hot spring bath right in our room. Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly generous

The place is a bit remote, the store facilities are insufficient (including catering), or it is more suitable to come here in summer!

It was located right across the sea and next to an ancient public Onsen. Don’t miss it if you are interested and it’s super cheap. We had the food inside our room for both breakfast and dinner

I was so happy that they asked us in detail about room preparation and what we needed! Both breakfast and dinner were so large that I was worried I wouldn't be able to finish them all, but they were so delicious that I finished them all before I knew it

The hotel's location is super convenient; you can take a bus directly from the JR station, and Shirarahama Beach is just across the street. The staff were very welcoming and explained all the facilities

Good location for the beech and short drives to most points of interest. Had a hot balcony foot bath overlooking the beech. The onsen in the hotel was good and relaxing and was not chlorinated water as is common in Osaka

I was surprised to see black algae floating in the bathwater, but after researching, I learned that it's also a type of mineral deposit. I had mistakenly thought it was only white, sulfurous deposits

The location is great, with a direct bus connection, though you do have to walk up some stairs. The room is spacious and well-equipped, and the hot spring bath is very clean

Location: Superb location, even closer to the sea than the Marriott on the map. The bus stop is right down the hill. You get a direct sea view from the window. Good points: The AC works well

I booked a Western-style room, not facing the sea. The hotel is conveniently located right by the station, but the supermarket is a bit of a walk

There's a delicious coffee and bakery shop on the first floor. Next door is the hotel's restaurant, which isn't too pricey. You can catch a bus to Senjojiki and Sandanbeki, or walk there in about 20 minutes

I've never stayed in a Japanese-style room before, so I decided to give it a try this time! The hotel is great, with an excellent location right by a bus stop, making it convenient to get anywhere

The location is super convenient, close to everything. I'm not sure about the onsen, but my husband said it was excellent. I was very satisfied with the room; every detail was well thought out

The staff were very friendly, and there was even a lady who spoke Chinese! As soon as we got off the bus, a staff member ran out from the hotel to help with our luggage – super thoughtful and attentive! If I come back to Shirahama, I'll definitely choose this place again

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was at checkout. It was drizzling, and the staff actually made us drag our own luggage to the bus without offering help or even an umbrella

The Chinese-speaking staff member was also very lovely. It's just a small road away from Shirarahama Beach, making transportation easy. The breakfast was a decent buffet as well

We booked a twin room in a Western-style house for our wedding anniversary, and they gave us a fantastic spot with a great view. They also gifted us two cute coasters

This is an inn where you can relax. It's close to tourist attractions, but in a quiet place, so I thought it was a great location. The food was delicious, and the hot springs were very relaxing

The tub bath in the room was also fresh and felt great! The open-air bath had a great view! It's on a hill with a great view, and when you move from the indoor bath to the open-air bath, you can get a glimpse of the residential area

Although the location is relatively remote, it is very convenient to drive in and out, and there is a parking lot, which is very convenient for self-driving tours

But is it really that rare that you can't see this from outside? Men and women alternate bathing in the morning and evening. The hair dryer has a weak airflow, so if you have long hair, you might want to bring your own!

The hot spring water is odorless and has a slightly salty taste, so it doesn't feel very much like a traditional hot spring, but the view from the open-air bath is beautiful (see video; I recorded it because no one was there)

When booking, I asked the front desk if I could request a non-smoking room, but the current staff said they didn't know about the time when there were smoking rooms. It might be a good idea to request one when booking

Located just a minute's walk from the station, the room was simple but well-maintained, and the owner's service was excellent. Even though it was right next to the train tracks, it was quiet and I slept very well

i really enjoy the wonderful onsen within the hotel. It has both private and public onsen. What an extraordinary experience in winter. Room is very clean and sizeable with sea view

I come to Wakayama every month, and this is always my go-to hotel. The reasons are its fantastic location, spacious parking, a wonderful onsen, and complimentary breakfast

However, the hot springs, with both indoor and outdoor baths, were a real highlight! Senjojiki is conveniently located just 200-300 meters to the right, offering breathtaking sunset ocean views

Plus, it's very affordable! The only downside is that the toilets and washbasins are shared facilities located in the hallway on each floor, not available en-suite

Famous attractions like Senjojiki and Sandanbeki are located nearby. It's quite a distance from Shirahama Station, and bus services are infrequent

There's a bus stop (for Senjojiki-guchi and Sohara-no-yu) and a ramen shop (serving decent food) conveniently located right in front of the hotel

Suited me perfectly, no frills in a great location, but it ticked all the boxes for me. They have a fantastic open-air hot spring, too.
