ArC LIFESTYLE SPACE & HOTEL in Mito

Hard bed, no curtains and the light is extremely bright in the morning. It is very difficult to sleep here and I woke up with a headache and a painful back.
You have to pay for pyjamas.
Air conditioning only worked sometimes.
It's dusty.

**Pros:**

- The front desk staff was friendly and I was impressed.
- The lobby had a decent selection of free drinks and snacks.
- The room was well-maintained and clean.
- The parking lot was spacious, making it convenient for those with cars.
- You can see the station from the main road in the morning, so walking home is easy.

**Disadvantages:**

- It's far from the station, and the dark streets can be a bit unsettling, especially at night.
- There are no convenience stores nearby.
- The facilities are old and cheap (plywood furniture, faded chair backs in the lobby, etc.).
- The bedside lamps are cheap, like those found at Daiso.
- There's no place to hang a face towel in the unit bath.
- The non-smoking room smelled like cheap air freshener.
- The walls were thin, and I could clearly hear the snoring and coughing from the next room, which woke me up several times during the night and kept me up.
- There were no pajamas, and loungewear cost an additional 300 yen. The synthetic T-shirt and shorts advertised as functional were a bit of a turnoff (regular hotels use more skin-friendly materials like cotton).
- No room cleaning for multiple-night stays (only towel replacement).
- The Wi-Fi was weak, and Zoom meetings were unreliable from my computer, rendering them unusable.
- **There was a sign inside the hotel offering a free snack if you leave a 5-star rating, which I felt was an inappropriate attempt to encourage reviews (profiteering).**

**Overall Review**
The average price for a Friday-Saturday stay in Mito seems to be around ¥15,000 for two nights, but for the price and amenities, I honestly felt it was a bit overpriced. I would have preferred a similarly priced hotel closer to the station. The soundproofing was particularly poor, significantly affecting the quality of my sleep. If you're driving, don't care about amenities, and have quiet neighbors, it might not be a problem.
