The toilet seat is so cold it takes courage to sit on it in winter.
The accommodation fee is cheap.
The faucet has a lot of water, but when you switch to the shower, it becomes extremely weak and the water temperature drops, so instead of warming you, you end up cooling down.
The price was reasonable, and the room was spacious enough for a solo traveler.
As a non-smoker, this was a welcome service.
I checked in on time for a single room.
The front desk was staffed by a man on the phone, so I was silently handed the guest list and filled it out while I waited.
After a while, the front desk attendant seemed to finish his call and handed me my key. He explained the check-out time and that I should leave the key at the front desk when I left, and then I headed to my room.
When I unlocked the door, I saw an occupied bed, a carry-on suitcase, and a bag.
It seemed I had been given the key to another guest's room, staying multiple nights, so I frantically called the front desk.
The man who answered the front desk immediately brought me the key to another room, but at this point, my suspicions were at their peak.
He claimed to have given me the key to my room, as listed in the reservation information, but it was clearly a room currently occupied by someone else.
Since I was staying on a tour for a concert and had plans to leave soon, I was filled with anxiety, wondering if my room key would be given to the wrong guest again...
I was shown to another room, but there was a faint moldy smell in the air, which only made me more anxious. I called the front desk to express my concerns about the hotel's management and trustworthiness, and asked for a cancellation and refund. They replied, "If the room can be offered to another guest (as long as the bed and bath are not in use), we'll refund you."
I was sitting in a chair without even unpacking my luggage, so of course I got a refund.
Also, since I was in an unfamiliar place and my preferred accommodation would be unavailable, I asked them to arrange an alternative hotel and cover the cost, but they seemed very annoyed.
If I had properly handed over my room key, this wouldn't have happened and I would have been able to stay there, so I don't understand why they're treating me like I'm in the wrong.
I asked for the manager or person in charge to speak to me, but they said they weren't available that day.
After about 20 minutes, a male staff member told me they had booked a hotel nearby (only about a 15-minute walk) and would show me to it.
It was in the opposite direction from the station, but that was the only available hotel, so we moved there and paid for the hotel.
This is by no means a major hotel, and they may be short-staffed, but I think handing over a guest's room key to the wrong person is absolutely unacceptable from the perspective of personal information and security.
I don't know if an apology was made to the other guest who was given the wrong key and entered the room, but I would recommend that anyone planning to use this hotel in the future not leave their keys at the front desk.
The room and facilities were commensurate with the price.
Parking is 500 yen per day, and you will be directed to the nearby Sannomaru Parking Lot. You can park at any time, but please note that there is an additional fee if you do not leave by 10am.
