The hotel has a good price quality. We stayed for one night only and we liked it very much. Considering we are a family of 4 most hotel rooms can't accommodate us as they are all too small so this style of bed arrangement is perfect for us. The room and toilet is quite small but I guess this is pretty normal in Japan.

We fell in love with the Edoya hotel! We stayed in a traditional room with tatami and had a big space with a chair and a table to have tea and a toilet separated from the shower. The hotel has a terrace, an onsen (with sauna, exterior pool, interior pools hot and cold) and a tea room for a break. It’s not located very close to a big station, but has several lines within a 10 minute walking distance. Their staff was so kind and friendly. Their installations might feel outdated but we enjoyed it very much, having the feeling of being in the 90s in Tokyo. From all the hotels we stayed throughout our trip in Japan, this was our favourite!

Overall, it was okay. The only issues were that the doorway was quite low, so I kept hitting my head, and the duvet was too short for me, being over 1.8 meters tall, it didn't cover me completely.

Facilities: Great, there's an open-air onsen. It's not huge but very convenient.

Environment: Excellent, a very retro Showa-era style, great experience.
Service: The front desk staff speak English, which is a big plus.
Food: The toast was delicious, too bad I missed it for two days.

This is my fourth stay at Edoya – I'm a loyal fan! The large public bath, complimentary breakfast, and excellent location are major plusses. It's conveniently close to the University of Tokyo and Yushima Tenmangu Shrine. With several subway stations within a 15-minute walk, getting to/from Haneda or Narita for early or late flights almost never requires a taxi. These are all the benefits I can think of. Unless something unexpected happens, I'll definitely choose Edoya again for my next trip to Tokyo. I noticed a sign at the entrance saying the hotel was established in 1967. I hope it grows into a century-old establishment – keep up the fantastic work!

While the property isn't brand new, the thoughtful design with the air conditioning separate from the sleeping area was a huge plus. We booked a Japanese-style room for two adults and one child, and the mattresses and pillows were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had a wonderful night's sleep! The guesthouse boasts a fantastic location; it's just a 10-15 minute walk to numerous restaurants, and there's a supermarket nearby as well.
