APA Hotel Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus terminal Minami, Kumamoto1 / 22

Kumamoto, 31-3,Yamasaki-cho (60 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Another nice stay at an APA hotel. The room was tiny, the TV was huge...all is right in the world. (But seriously, it would be REALLY nice to be able to access the TV's settings to enable video game mode on an HDMI input; without it, Tears of the Kingdom was making me REALLY motion sick.) Negatives: The hotel really doesn't care when you'll be out of the room -- they want you to vacate EVERY THREE...
Friendly staffs, good breakfast, close to the attractions.
A beautiful hotel with large rooms and good service, the staff are happy to help wherever they can. A bus stop and a tram are nearby. A large mall is also within walking distance.
It is conveniently located near the Sakuramachi Shopping Center.
Closer to all the places. Quiet area and convenient to all activities.
I used it because it was close to the downtown area and the conference and dining venues, but the only negative thing was that the overseas guests were noisy. Other than that, I guess it's worth the price. I think the cleanliness is acceptable for that price. It can't be compared to the cleaning done in Japan.

Excellent and comfortable stay
A very good hotel. The staff were very welcoming. We drove here, but the overnight parking fee was supposed to be 700, but for some reason it was 1600 when we left at 8 am. We were in a hurry and didn't pay attention to it.
In terms of Ammenities there was nothing at all. The fitness center was for adult only
The room was spacious compared to other hotels in Japan, the staff was kind and helpful, very close to Luffy’s statue.
It seems to be mainly for business travelers. The basic facilities in the room are complete, but a bit old. The buffet breakfast is included, with basic food, not many types, and average quality. Parking is charged.

Kumamoto, 1-14-1 Nishi-ku Kasuga (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
The room is nice and the shower is clean, comfortable and big. The only disadvantage is that there is no ceiling in the room so everyone actually staying in the same space sharing same air conditioner, in the morning for example I woke up few times because other rooms alarms
Five stars for what it is - a capsule hotel. Nice and friendly reception staff and instructions. Room is small but enough room for one. There is a bit of noise but that is ok. Interesting experience and good choice to try out capsule hotel travel. Suggest you have some ear plugs on you if your a soft sleeper.
Stayed here over a year ago now but my friend and I still rave about the experience - this was one of our top hotel stays during our entire month long trip! The rooms were just large enough, and the inclusion of the storage lockers really helped to make the room feel less cramped with our travelling gear. While initially the shared bathroom concept had me a bit worried, this turned out to be quite...
It was good and fine. There's a sweet fish tank in the lobby/bar area. Consider grabbing some earplugs from the front-- the rooms don't have ceilings. Everything was super clean and the staff was friendly.
More like a capsule hotel but wider rooms with some privacy. Very close to the JR station. So super convenient. But rooms are so close and separated like cubicls that you can hear a lot of noise. If that doesn’t bother you much and looking for a simple place to spend just the night , go for it.
Nice and cozy place to stay, just in front of the station. However beware that it might get noisy (there were noisy guests during my visit)

cheap, clean, small room but enough for me. man's only sauna included.
Was a great hotel close to the castle. Walking distance from a ton of shopping! English speaking with parking.
Low fee but the address is near the station, room is clean, tasty breakfast.
Better than expected! The breakfast was great, and they even offered free ochazuke and tea in the evenings. The service was excellent, and communication in English was no problem. The room isn't huge, perfect for a solo traveler. The location is fantastic, just a 2-minute walk from the Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Shopping and dining are convenient with fast-food places like Yoshinoya and Matsuya nearby...
Good. Great location, easy to access.
The room was old and dirty! The comforter felt unclean! I forgot a bag of fruit at the front desk and when I went back an hour later, they said they didn't have it. A terrible experience.

This is one of the best hotel I have lived in Japan, the service is amazing and the room setting are great!!! Very nice and tidy room with a public Onsen on 2/F and free parking, this is one of the best in Kumamoto.
Our experience with this was great. Rooms were nice and spacious and love that there was a tub (even included bath salts for us 😊) Might need to take note of the stairs on the way up, but thankfully just 1 flight.
The spa and sauna in the hotel... they're the best. The room was also very clean, which was exactly the kind of cozy accommodation I wanted.
It is a great location for a walk around Suizenji Park. It is also good for taking the tram to Sakura-machi. The large bath is a premium concept, but there is a separate fee. Breakfast is self-service in your individual room.
There are many Japanese locals living here, the environment is beautiful, and the front desk staff is very friendly. There is free parking space. Although the breakfast has few choices, it has everything you need and tastes good. It was very lively during dinner time, with many Japanese people.
The service was average because we didn't understand Japanese and had some difficulty communicating. The location is good, about 15 minutes walk from the JR station. There is a convenience store opposite the hotel and a supermarket about three minutes' walk away where you can buy snacks and drinks. The hotel also provides "hot springs" which are charged in two time periods. Overall, there are still...

Nice place with self check-in and check-out. I also recommend visiting Suizenji Ezuko Park nearby in the evening
I was able to make a reservation despite having to extend my stay unexpectedly. It's usually fully booked, so I appreciate your hospitality again this time.
Satisfactory stay n expected due to price
Decent enough, but wish they were clearer about the deposit policy, as it caused some stress.
This was my first time staying here. The staff were very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed had a memory foam mattress pad and memory foam pillow. I slept soundly. I'd like to stay here again if I have the opportunity.
I stayed here for my child's entrance exam preparation. I had something I wanted to confirm before my stay, so I called in advance. The staff there were very kind, polite, and pleasant, so even though it was my first time visiting the area, I was relieved. The front desk staff at check-in and check-out were all very pleasant. The room was clean, and the provided kettle and hair dryer were very useful...

I stayed in a Japanese-Western style room in the main building for two nights and one night, with two meals included. The front desk was spacious, quiet, and had a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were courteous and helpful. There were two elevators, which I think was sufficient given the number of rooms, but they rarely arrived, suggesting they were older. The room was generally clean. The bath, toilet...
Hei Kumamoto luxury room is worth recommending👍
The hotel has two buildings. The Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats are in the annex, but they are connected by an indoor corridor. The dinner set menu is enough to fill you up, and there are also a variety of dishes. The breakfast is ordinary, but you can still eat healthy prototype food
Spacious and traditional hotel.
The hotel had a great atmosphere and was very nice. The breakfast menu was the same for two days, which was a bit disappointing, and the convenience store closed early, which was a bit inconvenient.
Quite cozy hotel, I booked the Japanese room and it was very warm and comfortable. The only downside is they don’t allow tattoos in the onsen, even if you are a foreigner, hope this prejudice in Japan will vanish soon.

Kumamoto, 860-0051 Kumamoto, Nishi-ku Nihongi 2-7-10, Japan (5 km from centre) 🧭 Map
I stayed for two nights. It's about an eight-minute walk from Kumamoto Station, and since the plan didn't include meals, I thought the price was reasonable and good. However, the large public bath is not separated by gender, so women who want to use the bath have to contact the front desk. That was the only disappointing thing.
I used the hotel for work. There is a large public bath on the first floor. I didn't use it so I don't know how big it is. There is also a coin laundry. I think the prices are reasonable. It's very convenient as it's only a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto Station.
The reviews said she was kind and friendly, but she didn't greet me at all and just looked down when she realized a guest had arrived. I wonder if she was a part-timer who wasn't used to serving customers? She seemed more like a dorm mother than a hotel hostess. There was no explanation about the welcome drink. When I asked, she told me where it was. The hotel entrance is like a training camp, and...
Is this a relatively new hotel? It was clean. The twin room was spacious and the bathroom was clean. I wish there was an air purifier.
The center of Kumamoto City is around Kumamoto Castle, but there are not many hotels near JR Kumamoto Station. This is a business hotel located about a 10-minute walk from Kumamoto Station. The hotel is new and the rooms are spacious. There is a large public bath, which guests can use after 5 p.m. Also, coffee is provided free of charge in the dining room.
I shifted from the city area to a place near the Kumamoto station so i could travel to the outskirt of Kumamoto city. It takes me about 7mins to walk to the hotel from the station. Although it's a bit of walk, but the hotel is situated near the residential area so you can see the locals in the morning!^^ Kokutei and 埼陽軒 ramen is about 4 mins walk from the hotel! Thank you so much for all your flexibility and consideration. I appreciate your help.
It takes 10 minutes to walk from Sakuramachi Kumamoto Shopping Mall. It's nice to have an arcade shopping street near the hotel. The hotel facilities looked old, but overall they were good and the staff were very friendly.
The location is good as it's near the downtown area, but the building itself is old and has a charming atmosphere. The front desk is open 24 hours. It's a shame that the amount of hot water in the bath is not very strong.
I booked this place last minute while traveling on a budget. On trio.com it had pretty high ratings, though the Google reviews seem a bit outdated. Check-in was a little late (4pm), but aside from that everything went smoothly. Wi-Fi worked fine, and there was staff on duty 24/7. If you’re not expecting luxury but want something clean and well-located, this hotel is a great choice.
It's really great. Even I, who can't speak any Japanese, managed to check in without any problems.
The hotel is a bit dated, but considering the price, it was a truly satisfying stay. The location was also very close to the city center, and there was a convenience store right next door, which was nice.

A bit old, located at a "going out" distric, the smell of tobacco was present. Nonetheless it was clean and conveniently located with the bus terminal close by. Is not a bad place but can do with some renovation
It was conveniently located in the city center, great for sightseeing, and also had breakfast available.
I used it as a business hotel. I would like to use it again.
Courteous service, clean place, good location
There are many restaurants near this hotel, near the shop street. The hotel has a cooperative parking lot for 1,500 yen per night. This is the first time for our family to check in. Although the front desk staff did not speak English, they explained to us patiently and had a good service attitude. The room was small and the bathroom was small, but clean. We are quite satisfied with this price.
Parking expensive. My booking check in time 11pm,had to pay extra $200 to early check in.

A beautifully appointed boutique hotel within walking distance of Suizenji garden. There is no parking space in the hotel but staff will park your car in the sister hotel just across the street for you so make sure you take everything you need from your car when you checkin . Service staff all very friendly and kind. Most speak a little English. Breakfast and Kaiseki dinner one of the best we have...
The room was very comfortable! The private hot spring was unique – you must try it sometime! Parking is free!
This boutique hotel offers excellent service, a generous breakfast, and rooms that are much more spacious than other hotels. The only downside is that there's only one room key, which you have to return every time you enter or leave.
The staffs are very helpful and polite. There is free drinks every night from 7pm to 9 pm. Including sake and wine which is rare. Free hot bath for family but must book . Basically this is a good hotel , worth for the money
The room was new and the service was good. You absolutely must try the complimentary 60-minute hot spring bath; although it's a large public bath, the environment is very comfortable. The location is a 3-minute walk from Suizen-ji Temple and about a 17-minute taxi ride from Kumamoto Castle. Breakfast and dinner were also delicious.
The hotel is located in a residential area, very quiet, the service is very thoughtful, and the breakfast is very rich.

Kumamoto, 1-4-18 Kuhonji (45 min from centre) 🧭 Map
Good location, short walk to city center. Hip and minimalist hotel, creative. Rooms are small, but expected as it looked like it is a refurbished apartment block. No elevator to lobby, be prepared to carry your luggage up the stairs. Elevator to the rooms can fit 2 with luggage at best, or 4 adults without luggage. All in all, a good place for a quick rest.
The staff were super helpful; the receptionist advised me on the best way to get to mount Aso and provided a map as well. The location is slightly off from the main part of town, but I kinda like it since it’s kinda like an escape from the hustle and bustle. It’s perhaps a 8-10 minutes walk to Toricho-suji which is not bad at all. Made some instant noodles with what they provided and it was great

The toilet was not working in the our room and when I told them about this they asked us to change the room but I paid extra money for that specific room because of the river view and the room they were asking us to move didn't have that view so we had to use always the toilet in the lobby. Other then this everything was good but due to this toilet issue I guess the money I paid was not worth it.
The price is reasonable, considering it's a 7-8 minute walk from the downtown area. The facilities aren't particularly beautiful, but they're relatively good, and are perfect for people looking for a reasonably clean hotel at a reasonable price. There's no TV, but in this internet age, guests are welcome to use the Wi-Fi. While they've cut costs, they offer free services like instant ramen and coffee...
A very cost-effective hotel, better than expected. It's a pity that I threw away the medicine I forgot in the hotel. I had just left for a day.

I had never tried a Japanese style ryokan and sleeping on a futon so I tried it at this establishment. Its not for everyone but I slept okay. The room was clean and had the basics. It just depends on your itinerary if you would like to stay here or not...
Classic Japanese ryokan experience. Most outstanding Japanese breakfast ever!!! Succulent mackerel. Heavenly rice. And the most delicious homemade miso soup with fresh mushrooms and daikon. Perfect way to start a vacation on our first day.

The location is great: close to both the metro station and the bus stop, and at the same time a very quiet area, because the hotel is not located near the road. Great place! I've stayed at several Toyoko Inn hotels, and as always, I'm thoroughly satisfied. This particular location is excellent, right next to Kumamoto Station. The room was clean and comfortable, and the service was warm and attentive. The breakfast was also quite good.
This was a gorgeous hotel and I enjoyed every minute - lovely room with a bath and great views - literally less than 5 minute walk to Kumamoto station and 3 minutes walk to the tram line.
The location is super convenient.
Omg, to cansel another hotel and change booking to this was my best decision! A had awesome view! I really enjoyed it during the late evening, check the photo. Breakfast was so good, I never leave dinning area hungry. Lovely! In case the space is full, you can take it to your room. With that view, I wasn't against 😉 Other things like in every other Toyoko inn.
Wall is thin. I could hear people coughed and talked telephone. Bed was not comfortable. Their front staff was too busy and did not smile. However, I enjoyed the good view from window. Also, it is near bus from airport. The facial cleanser was oily and i immediately got pimple.

A very beautiful guest house especially the corridor on the ground floor by the garden. It's about 10-515mins walk from the train station along a river. Nice and quiet enough for me though there's the occasional sound of traffic. There's a big supermarket about 3mins walk away down the same block.
Love the seats along the corridor! Staff was kind to help me make a reservation for a nearby restaurant.
Awesome place to stay. Most friendly host, I've ever met. He takes the time to show you all the local spots and interesting places on a map. Thanks a lot for the stay :D
Very warming guest house! A staff called Kirisan is very kind. He told me tons of local spots not written on a guidebook. Absolutely you can enjoy beyond a guidebook! Also, can enjoy staying at a Japanese authentic house.
