Reviews
The hotel is also very close to the Pai Nahagama beach where we spent most of our time.
They also have a pool and heated jacuzzi on premise which was nice.
The rooms are slightly small and the outdated room keys were the only downsides as such.
Overall great value for the money paid.
The maisonette's stairs were practically a ladder.
The shampoo and body soap provided seemed to be intended for use after swimming in the ocean, so I recommend bringing your own for everyday use.
The rooftop offers a panoramic view of the ocean and harbor!
One thing to keep in mind: if you arrive late, you will need to park in the second parking area, which is about a 5-minute walk from the hotel.
On a positive note, the front desk staff were friendly and even offered popsicles, adding a nice touch to the experience.
-Lobby smells good
-Employees are friendly
-Herbal tea
Cons:
-Room key is difficult to use (like an old fashioned car key). You need to use the key for electricity in your room so that means you cannot leave things charging in your room while gone. 25,000 yen fee if you lose it
-Room furniture is heavy and metal. When staff are cleaning other rooms, you can hear the metal scratching against the concrete floor all morning long while they move it. This starts at 7am
-Trashcan is heavy block wood so you cannot easily move it around
-Room looks like a prison cell. Concrete floors and grey painted walls
-Walls are thin. You can hear your neighbors open and close their doors
-No coffee in room, only herbal tea. No refills on the tea--even if you are staying 2+ nights
-Room wear smells strange
-Breakfast scrambled eggs are undercooked and like porraige
-At 5am you can hear ships offloading cargo. Loud beeping sounds echo through the room
-Cups in the buffet have wobbly shaped rims which make it hard not to spill while drinking
-Only 15 parking spots for 30+ rooms. Hard to find the overflow parking lot; it is also very far away
-Room was not clean. Smelled strange. Ran out of shampoo on my second day
-Elevator was dirty and has spiders living in it
-Elevator buttons are painful to touch and are caked with dirt
-Check-in tablet froze while using it. Paper and pen would have been more practical
-Very few toiletries. No lotion, even though it is a tropical island
-Room door latch was broken
-Room is 1/2 the size of most hotel rooms in Miyakojima
-Concrete floor is very cold at night
-Small carpet under the room table was dirty and stained
-Bidet 'Stop' switch was broken in the lobby bathroom, so my butt was just being sprayed with water with no way to escape
However, it was cramped, so there wasn't enough space to open two suitcases. The pool was also small, so I didn't use it.
Still, there were restaurants nearby, and it was clean, so I'd definitely visit again!
