Rixos Hotel in Turkistan

The hotel was gorgeous and very comfortable. The spa and pool was a bonus! I gave it a four because I had to call the desk 3 or 4 times to request basic items like extra toilet paper and extra towels because no one cleaned the room when I had requested it on day 2 of our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

I just spent one night at the Rixos Turkistan,and had a great experience. The hotel is modern. The rooms are large and clean. The hotel is connected with a small shopping centre with a supermarket. The spa and fitness centre are great. The pool in particular is huge and very much adapted for people who like swimming, with a smaller pool for children. The staff are usually very friendly and you can easily find somebody with a very good command of English, which is not always a given in Kazakhstan. This morning, the cleaning lady, seeing me going down with my big back for checking out, asked the hotel staff for assistance, and I was also allowed to use the pool (I had it for myself) after checking-out and before going to the airport. This was very much appreciated;

Rixos is top notch, the room is clean and cozy, the price through trip is twice cheaper than through other sites. The breakfast is super, I liked everything.

Nice hotel. Employees were all smiles and helpful. Bed was comfortable, shower was great air conditioning worked. There was a big chip on one of the shelves they tried covering up with the minibar menu. That made me laugh. Food in the restaurant was excellent. Their "Irish Pub" is unlike any Irish pub I've ever been in in my life. I'm not complaining, it was just hilarious to me that they'd call such a high end fancy place an Irish pub. The spa was nice except that one of our massages was canceled at the last minute and they lied to us about why. A spa receptionist had already told us they only had one masseuse. When my husband showed up for his massage a different receptionist told him the masseuse was sick even though the masseuse was clearly standing right in front of him. He had seen her when I had my massage earlier. Cancelling isn't the worst thing ever, but we had been out doing something else an hour away and we had rushed back to make it in time for his massage so it would have been nice of them to tell us. So, if you schedule anything with the spa I'd double check to confirm with them it's really happening. Overall, it was great. Only that one little snafu. I hate the fact they don't have a hot tub. It's something I really value in a hotel so if you want one...it's not there...the pool and work out room are nice though. Next to the Ritz in Almaty it's the nicest hotel we've stayed in in Kazakhstan. We stayed there one night for our wedding anniversary last year.
