We Stayed for one night as part of a group tour. Arrived early evening in the dark and rain so a little chaotic as we were a large group. Rooms were basic a little on the small side but clean and comfortable. Breakfast (Omelette or porridge accompanied with fruit bread and homemade jam) was preordered and served in the covered courtyard. The grounds are interesting and quirky. There was no porter service and access to the majority of rooms was on the first level so cases had to be carried up the stairs.

Originally built by a Kazakhstani film-maker as somewhere for actors and crew to stay while on location. The current owner has collected all manner of props-like ephemera - from televisions to dolls, irons and a diving suit - arranged around the leafy courtyard. The restaurant is similarly striking and serves excellent food. Bedrooms are basic but perfectly clean and comfortable. Just a few minutes walk from a super sandy beach with pier.

My bedroom was though the second gate and was just large enough to accommodate 2 narrow single beds. The only other furniture in there was a small wardrobe, 2 stools and a small table. The shower room was a reasonable size with a water heater in the shower. A limited dinner and breakfast was served in the unheated dining room and we had to go to the local shop for beer.

Stayed for 1 night as part of a 31 person tour with Mercury Holidays. We should provide context to the review as previously we had stayed in a very nice 4* hotel in Bishkek and were anticipating a similar standard. If we had booked the Art Hotel at the TA going rate and were looking for a cheap and cheerful stay we might have a different view. Pros: Clean room, nice garden, quiet location , close to beach, simple fixed menu food, good Wi-fi, friendly staff, plenty of hot water. Cons: mattresses dreadful ( either very thin foam mattress or divan base without topper ), no bedside light or kettle, no aircon or fan, minimal toiletries. If we had expected a cheap 2* hostel we would probably have found this quirky and charming.

Interesting place with lots of vintage stuff. Short small beds and tiny rooms. Your window is on the same open corridor where other guests go. Very kind and attentive hosts yet I consider this hotel overpriced for not comfortable lodging.

The location was great. I loved the spirit of the hotel but the comfort of the rooms are very average.

Nice hotel with nice outdoor seating areas. Clean rooms, clean shower, simple and tasty food. And a caring home owner who know provide service. As someone who is quite a bit in Kyrgyzstan, I think this is an excellent hotel in the southern part of the lake.
