Elestet Hotel Issyk Kul in Ton

My stay at Elestet Issyk-Kul Yurt Camp was honestly one of the most disappointing experiences I’ve had while traveling. The only good thing about this place is the nature around it — the view of the lake and mountains is truly stunning. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

The yurts themselves are very small, cramped, and uncomfortable. The beds are hard, cranky and small too making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Specially if you have a small kid. Everything inside feels fragile and poorly maintained — shower door broke when we entered, then the maintenance guy came to fix it, door handle broke down by his hand. For the price they charge, you would expect at least basic comfort, but this place fails badly. If you have any questions, issues, there’s no one to turn to. The place feels deserted and unorganized.

Breakfast was another disappointment — they literally count what they give you: one egg, one tiny muffin, a small bowl of porridge, and one sausage. It feels stingy and far below the standard of what you’d expect from a camp charging such high rates. Staff are not friendly, it feels like they are doing us a favour by letting us stay there.

The overall service and attitude make it seem like guests are an inconvenience rather than a priority. The management clearly doesn’t care about comfort, hospitality, or value for money. It’s shocking how poorly everything is handled given how beautiful the surroundings are.

In short, don’t be fooled by the scenic photos. The location and natural beauty are the only redeeming factors. Everything else — the service, rooms, comfort, and overall experience — is a complete letdown. If you’re looking for peace and relaxation by the lake, look elsewhere. You’ll thank yourself later.

We went directly and booked 2 rooms.As there are 4 people in our room (2kids and 2 adults) we asked for 4 mattress but later that lady came and said she can give only 3 mattress as she has to give for another guest. For which we ddnt agree. Initially she said breakfast is included but later at 10:30pm she came and said that she can't provide breakfast when we asked about it she said she can refund the amount and can leave.we couldn't say anything as we have kids and it's difficult to search for another stay that late night. Washrooms are very dirty.especially the shower.no proper maintenance.Overall our stay was very disappointing.
