Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, Langkawi in Pantai Tengah

The towel is too old to be used in the room despite comments given to Front Office. Generally the overall experiences in the hotel was pleasant.

Located right on the beach, the overall environment is quiet, comfortable, and close to nature.

The wooden cabin structure means the soundproofing isn't great, but the main issue was the bedding. It felt unclean and quite coarse, which honestly made me a bit uncomfortable.

The breakfast at the hotel lobby was decent, but the selection wasn't extensive.

The Grill seaside restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere. There were two live singers during dinner, and they performed beautifully.

The best 3 days i had in my life. The view of our seaview room is just amazing. The staffs is so friendly. Every-time we called a buggy to pick us up from the room. It came so quick. Will definitely come back. Thank you for the amazing hospitality!

Everything was great except the room. First room was full of bugs, second room the same. They then offered a room for those disabled. It was out dated and dirty. After 4 times, I gave up and just took the room they gave at the end. They even offered me a lakeside room but as soon as I walked in I saw 3 mosquitos. It’s not a 5 star hotel (or not the standards I have stayed previously). Even the ac was dirty, the room needs a paint job, bathroom needs touch ups. It’s a 4 star hotel. The staff, amenities and location are great.  It is a good hotel just don’t have you expectations for a quiet clean room.

The Pelangi Beach Resort in Langkawi is a beachfront resort.

From the main entrance, it's a bit of a walk to the lobby. The lobby itself has that distinct resort vibe, with a high ceiling adorned with several large, beautiful chandeliers.

It's open from front to back, so you can see the view from the other side directly from the entrance. This is where you check-in, request a golf buggy, and there's also a lobby bar in the middle.

Stepping out from the lobby, you'll find one of the infinity pools. Beyond the pool are kids' amenities, including a water slide, and then it's straight to the beach.

To the right are the guest accommodations, which are all individual wooden chalets. Some are single-story, while others are two stories high, with guests on both levels. No matter where you stay, you'll either face a lake or the pool, and the views are absolutely stunning.

In addition, there's another pool called the Caesar Pool. This one is quite unique, with a swim-up bar. You can swim right up to the bar and order drinks. Normally, swim-up bars charge to your room, but here they only accept credit cards or cash, which is a bit odd. Who carries a credit card or cash while swimming?

As I mentioned, the entire resort is made up of wooden chalets. We stayed in a family room, which had two beds – one double and one single – perfect for a family of three.

The room has a ceiling fan and a door leading out to a small private terrace. You can sit here and gaze at the sea. There are also two sun loungers outside, belonging to the chalet, where you can sunbathe, enjoy the breeze, and watch the ocean – it's incredibly relaxing.

The bathroom in the room is spacious, with a toilet, shower, and bathtub. At the end of the bathtub, there are louvered blinds that you can open to reveal a beautiful view, making for a very pleasant soak.

The entire resort feels very natural and rustic, with sun loungers dotted along the beach. There’s a peculiar type of tree that looks wild and wind-swept, like messy hair. There are also many coconut trees, and if you look closely, you'll notice that the trunks have been cut with notches, creating footholds for climbing. I assume this is because ripe coconuts often fall naturally here. I even saw a coconut on the path during a walk, so I imagine they have people climb up to harvest the nearly ripe ones to prevent them from hitting anyone.

Furthermore, the beach here faces southwest, offering spectacular sunsets. The resort's restaurants are famous internationally for this. There's also a beach where guests can swim. However, the restaurants are very open to nature, so there are a lot of seabirds; sometimes they'll even swoop down and snatch food from your plate while you're eating. There are also quite a few small insects, which you'll have to accept if you stay at the resort. But being so close to the sea, soaking up the sun and swimming is truly relaxing. While this hotel may not have the same prestige as the Four Seasons, it offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth recommending.

This is an older resort, but overall it's pretty good. The room is spacious enough, and the lake view from the balcony is beautiful. It's very relaxing to sit out there for a bit. The hotel has its own private beach and two swimming pools. While there are two restaurants for breakfast, the variety isn't extensive, and some items are repetitive. Finally, I'd like to mention that the hotel offers golf cart service to transport guests around the property. However, one staff member, for reasons unknown, reversed the cart to drop us off at our room. This felt impolite; guests aren't cargo! When we asked if he could give us a quick tour of the hotel, he said he was too busy. I really don't understand, isn't that part of his job?

We stayed in a sea view king room on the second floor. Initially, I felt a bit disappointed, thinking it wouldn't be as charming as the ground floor. However, after checking in, I realized that apart from having to go down stairs to reach the beach, the second-floor room was perfect in every other way. The hotel's service, facilities, and cleanliness were all excellent, with nothing to complain about. Besides the beach, there are also two large swimming pools (open from 8 AM to 8 PM) and a small zoo. The staff even prepared some food for the kids to feed the animals (which would easily cost 20-30 RMB at other attractions!). For breakfast, there are two restaurants: one with an Asian-inspired menu and another with American-style options. We only tried the Asian restaurant, and it was decent – nothing particularly surprising, but certainly not disappointing either. Overall, it was a very satisfying and enjoyable stay.

Very good resort, clean room, good food and area! The staff are very helpful, kind and frendly! Near to airport, restaurants, shops, very good beach and pools, very good breakfast! Recommended!

Amazing resort, close to all shops and restaurants. We got an upgrade, friendly staff and super helpful. Rooms are a very good size and we were fairly close to pool and restaurants.

Facilities: Excellent. Hygiene: Spotless. Environment: Beautiful. Service: Very welcoming. This resort has a fantastic environment, a large private beach, and is super close to the airport, just a fifteen-minute drive away.
